  • da sound of that organ is highly addictive, Is that a mark III ?

  • Rhodes Mark I stage piano.

  • they weigh a tonne because of the cast iron holding all the tynes, they are a dog to tune , but the sound is great, see Donald Fagan

  • what effect is this ...is phaser or tremolo?

  • U got this information in the description...

  • ooooh he told you. zing

  • I love this video. Very well done, I've visited many times. I love the sound of that piano.

  • man thats so nice hey 1 question in this video you are using an amplificator

  • well he just took the audio output directly from RCA socket of the Rhodes harp to get a clearer sound...

  • Do I really have to put JACK cable-dummy in my next videos just to satisfy ignorant people so they can get off me? You can read in any good source of Rhodes info that you can take the signal in several ways, not just from the JACK socket which gives you a plenty of mudd.

  • Got that piano sounds so good. I've only played emulations of the real thing. Cool beans.

  • Very good!

  • can u please do the enite thing??

  • Just like the original I love it

  • Aww dude that was beautiful. Honestly- people just NEVER understand the music they play, but from one musician to another, I take my hat off to you.

    :)

    Well done.

  • I say the same thing man, I hate when people play something just because, and spit out carbon copy notes. Play what you feel this guy has done well :)

  • Great stuff, I have made a little mashup with it, hope you like :) I made little cuts in your vid to fit with the beat and then changed the order of some of the notes and looped them, adding random elements here and there. The vid is the byproduct of making the tune.

  • that tight you sound great

  • sounds good!

  • yezzir!!!

  • that really sounds like it... great job.

  • can u give me the chords to that song?

  • Did you get the chords?

  • yeah thankx..

  • must..buy..rhodes

  • You played that perfectly. I was waiting for the rhythm section to come in and Stevie to start singing lol.

  • Impressive

  • Sounds just the original. Wow!

  • Man you have got to please show how to play All I Do. I've been wanting to learn that song forever!!

  • that was right on the money

  • Sounds like butter to my soul...

  • You can have your butter. I'll stick with my margarine. hahaha j/k

  • lol

  • I am feelin' that broziff...100 and 10 percent...

  • Sounds great! would you like to share the chords your using?

    thank,

    keep up the good work!

  • damn, that was good...

  • this made me cum in my pants

  • Brilliant sounds just like the actual recording!

  • His Rhodes sounds even better

  • its not plugged in no? theres no patch cord..

is there a rear output jack on the rhodes i dont know about?

  • Inside a Rhodes piano you can disconnect some cable that leads from harp's RCA socket output to a front panel and take your way directly from RCA socket. I always record it that way, because it gives much clearer and detailed sound (better high frequencies).

  • Check this fenderrhodes . com / img / products / mkhc1 / 02 . jpg

  • heck yes, i can hear the difference. what an awesome tip.

    cheers

  • crazy! do you bypass the eq? so you wire another jack straight onto the harp? the harps an RCA output?

  • sounds fuckin amazing this is a rare and beautiful song

  • Can someone tell me what the chords are for this song?

  • GreAT tONE

  • sounds like the real song!!

  • When you hear that, you realize how far and above Stevie was to everyone even with his lack of vision. A bit like Jaco Pastorius

  • your completly right

  • so true

  • great....playing!!!

  • great sound ... but it seems you're missing a

bass note on the last chord

  • your obviously don't know what music is really about. You're probably hammering al those songs from realbooks in your head, wrong.

  • This is brilliant!!

  • yes it is!!! Thank you for sending this ariel babe!! :-)

  • what kinda amp are u using?

  • No amp, I just plug it from the harp into the preamp in my external soundcard.

  • fucking unbelievable :)

  • beautiful. stevie would be proud.

  • wow! this does sound exactly the same as the original!!! great job! i hope i can do what u do in a few years....i learned how to play the piano too late, lol. i'm so old

  • Thank you! 20 yo. You call it 'old'? :D I took piano/keyboard lessons for 7 years in the past and I hated practising. Then after those 7 years I was playing very little. I ruined my skills. Now I'm probably more producer and composer than performer..

  • nice! you really got that tone, man! :)

  • wow!!!!!!!!!!! BEautiful!

  • how much is the EQ turned open?

  • It was recorded directly from the harp of Rhodes to firewire sound card. As you can see on the video there is no jack plugged in on front panel so no eq from Rhodes. The advantage of recording sound directly from harp is much clearer sound. Then after recording I probably added low cut filter (about 60 Hz maybe) and boosted a little some frequencies responsible for attack and clarity. I'm not sure now if I reduced some mid-lows or not but it remained a little bit muddy.

  • Great playing (and a great song to play as well!) Do you happen to know what EQ ranges should be boosted when coming off the harp directly? Also, great chorus effect -- I assume that was added in Protools or whatnot instead of using a chorus pedal?

  • Thank you. :-) Well, I don't know, I think it's a matter of taste and what fits in the mix when you record Rhodes for a song. Generally when I record Rhodes directly from harp it has too much bass which I have to reduce if I don't want a mix to become muddy. But there's a problem again when I reduce these frequencies too much the sound becomes thin.

  • Because when you want fat/warm Rhodes sound then it's better to combine it with micked amp signal/get some tube preamp for line signal or record it on tape. So the Rhodes piano is one thing and how you record it is second. I still don't have good gear to make fat sound and I'm very unhappy with my results so far... And about the effect, yes - the phaser effect was added later.

  • I agree on neeeding the amp tone for best effect. I personally run my Rhodes through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe tube amp and get a pretty good tone out of that. However, my friend who also has a Rhodes (his is a suitcase, and the other output jacks doesn't work properly!!) doesn't really have the budget for better recording equipment yet, so he's having to take the sound straight off the harp on his.

  • beautiful

  • Awesome, it sounds exactly the same.

  • Amazin' . All I want to say .

  • Jesteś wspaniały, pograłabym i pośpiewała kiedyś chętnie z Tobą :)

  • nice job where is the rest of it? thanx for watching our video

  • Thank you for watching. Well, I don't know. :) But maybe I'll do some other songs by Stevie - plenty of Rhodes parts there.
