To poitinstill---I would love any and all information you have!!! My grandfather Andrew was not very forthcoming with family stories...I learned more at his wake than I ever knew when he was alive :(
Please note that mrcrazyman1111 is my sons utube name...my name is Theresa and I would like to send you my email address if that is ok?
@mrcrazyman1111 that may very well be the case..... the Shell House still belongs to the Ffrench family, and most of the Ffrench family still live in the area. If you need further information, I would be happy to oblige.
i doubt she new mrs lynch r ask her though, she was born in 1925 a twin .they lived not far from the old porocle? school, down the road across i think from marys pub the brendane inn,my mums related to nellie cullen, we used to stay at the breens guest house, betty and nicola,
@TheKingprawn64 ah yes i know barretts pub well and the old schoolhouse in bannow. she would probably have been too young to remember to remember mrs.lynch, though she taught there for donkey's years. I think betty phelan has passed on, nicola sold the pub and has a b+b down the road now.
brings back memories of a lovely child hood ,used to go every year to carrig ,my mum was brought up there, and at 85 im taking her back this year again
nice video dont know if lying on a slab would fix my back the shell hse is work of art a cathederal for the sea! .theres another shell house between dublin and gallway i think in carlow or kildare ! good vid!
Ido'nt think I would rely on the slab for backache cure either, a couple of aspirin would be handier! Yeah the shell house was 'coated' with the shells gathered on Cullenstown beach
Bannow Island - I know the spot well. I'm glad to see the three crosses are still in place outside Carraig-on-Bannow also. They are thought to be amongst the earliest medieval crosses in the country.
As for the shell house, over the years my family used to have the odd picnic in the carpark/picnic spot opposite the house and we were always perplexed as to what the story was behind it...now I know!
Nice text, impressed with the map and the editing is really great *****

Thanks, KingPrawn. I went to school in Carrig myself in the sixties, ask your mum if she remembers teacher, Mrs. Lynch?

Love the music, my favorite Maire Brennan song. She could make any old ruin look breathtaking. I never tire of seeing them; keep up the good filming.
