  • Y make a casting video if u didn't even cast??

  • NICE VID FOR STARTERS

  • Pretty useless except he did at least hold the pole properly

  • I learned absolutely nothing watching this.

  • dis answers my question how to cast

  • BOO can you even cast a fishing

  • I wish people would learn proper terminology if they're going to post instructional videos like this. This isn't spin-casting, it's an open face spinning reel. Spin-cast reels have a closed face , no bail, have push button operation, are mounted on the top of the handle instead of the bottom, and look completely different. The title of this video should be changed to "Basic Operation of a Spinning Reel".

  • i think hes just refferring to spinning with standard tackle tbh - but i dig what your saying.

  • boo.. baitcasters ftw.

  • this isn't spincasting, its a spinning reel

  • that spool is heavily under-spooled - it should be filled right to the brim when using monofilament!

  • Once I cast and forgot to open the bail. The weight whipped back and shattered my glasses. Sure glad it didn't hit me in the eye.

After that I just went to the store to buy my fish.

  • my dad taught me this

  • its a pain when you miss cast or it tangles up when you open the bail. also it takes time to be able to cast in a straight line. i still cast way off to the right, because am a lefty. also when casting specially with weights. put a lot of power into it

  • lol my uncle taught me how 2 cast lyk this yesterday and how 2 untangle it. lol its fun XD

  • can i use a spinning reel on a baitcaster rod ? help please...

  • Yea u can

    Go Pumas!

  • jajajaajajaj Thanks... Go Pumas!!!

  • you can but it is not the a good choice at all. You will have the under part of the rod sticking in your hand all day. Plus the guides are made different for each type like on spinning rods the guides are usually bigger. If you must you can but if you can afford to get a spinning rod get it.

  • A pretty poor vid in my opinion I think I see him picking up the line at the same time as he opens the bale, but he does not mention this. To cast in the fashion he describes the moment you open the bale arm you are going to start dropping line and get into a mess.

His explanation of the finger release is also less then inspiring all in all it does not want to make me run to their web site for info.

  • Hey stoop leaving rude comments. That's not nice! So for all you haters if you don't like it ,then keep your feelings to yourself. I think he did a great job

  • I bet you break your line a lot. If you fish like a normal person you rarely cast from behind, especially if Salt Water Fishing. First is so you don't hit some one, two you can throw as far from the side as the back, three if catches you will be hit by the Jig/Hook/ECT, and lastly you will break your life if you do it too hard.

  • Thanks for posting.

  • Do you believe I was looking for this concept for a long long time , thank you very much.

  • It's funny how simple it is lol, I was surprised when I found out.

  • You stupid fuck!!! you don't first open the bail, then hold the line. You hold the line then open the bail!!! Where the fuck are you coming from??????? I think you're the one that need to learn how to cast a spinning reel.

  • Hey man that's not cool to rip on the dude like that. Yes you do hold the line before opening the bail & you release it during the momentum of your cast not after. Plus he did not cover drag but dropping F bombs on the guy for trying to help out is not cool...

  • mmmmmm and i think u should get some respect lessons hahahaha :p

  • w0w and thats not the basic lol

  • where is your basic casting video
