Scientific endeavour is the search for truth, it is not about good or evil. He is not a racist, he merely spoke candidly. What if it is true that blacks are genetically destined to be on average less intelligent? What if that it is true? It's not outside of the realm of possibility by any means. We owe it to our intelligence to seek truth, whatever it is, even if it is hard for us to comes to terms with and challenges sociopolitical norms. His work has and will reduce suffering in the world.
