Well I been researching and this pick up is passive and no active so it does not require a battery like the active emg 81,85. All emg hz pickups are passive so they do not require a battery.

Hey i bought Alexi sig pickup too but how did you wire it? cause the wires to connect to the jack are too small to connect with a V shape guitar like mine and yours

the volume pot from the guitar gets eplaced with the emg pot, so you can put it in any guitar, but you have to replace the volume knob with the one on the emg

X2N sounds great but that 3 band eq with EMG's can get you sound very close to Dimarzios.i use the same EQ but with 81.
