Awesome video footage, now that takes steady hands, a good eye, a good camera... and a good pilotI don't think I've seen anything that good for model planes anywhere!
@bendunia WOW! That's a nice compliment- The Lovely Denise is going to get a swelled head, which might make her not as cute, so I'm going to hide the internet from her. She doesn't need to see this stuff, anyways. What's so special about the internet? If Al Gore invented it, it's probably just full of boring government stuff and probably places to get better deals on hotel rooms, and since we don't need a hotel, then she can probably be happy with just TV, and her head won't swell up.
Heh Steve and Denise. Still love to watch your videos. Denise is really a good videographer and editor. I have bought the Dynam P-51 and still hopefully will work my way up to it. Me and my brothers are going to see,"Red Tails" Saturday. Winter is setting in and seems like every Saturday is too windy to fly for us. So if we get a fairly calm day (less than 10-15) we will be out flying, maybe not so much crashing!
@dementia0090 gotta make a red tail video! First we have to paint a Mustang- then get Cuba Gooding, call George for some special effects... BTW- when you have Crashproofing, BIG wind gets to be a very fun flying experience- you should try it! The Hawkfigher is the plane I use for it, but these planes on 4 cells do it really well, too-
im in the market for a foamie P51, but that spitfire flew so great and looks good to, im considering that.
But my questions is, why does the P51 not have either a 2 blade prop for performance, or a 4 blade to make it more scale? The 3 blade just looks odd on it.
Are there 2 or 4 blade props available for this plane?
@joeshmoe12301230 I had the same prop reservations til I flew the beast- it's a "scale" rocket on 4 cells, and the prop is one of the coolest sounding props I've flown- same prop/motor/ESC on all 3 planes. The outcome? I couldn't care any less about the way the prop looks when it's not spinning! I'm sure a 2 blade would give better performance, but testing that is a couple of months away-
@joeshmoe12301230 Spit battery depends on the vid- in this one, 3000mah 3s 25c- and yes, the 3 planes have an identical setup (motor, prop, ESC, battery)
@joeshmoe12301230 Well i watched one of your videos with you flying the Spit and the ESC kept overheating causing you loss of power and you had to come in dead stick. It was confusing because you were saying one thing about the batt/esc combo, and the captions said something different. It seems to me that you had to to bigger on the esc to like a 30 or 40amp, to run the 4s battery without overheating.
@joeshmoe12301230 this is the video that i was referring too. And from my limited knowledge of electrics, If you are getting more power and performance by simply putting in a batt with more volts, then that means the stock combo is not enough to sufficiently power the motor. If the motor is already getting the max power it needs, then you will simply get longer flight time, or probably overheat the esc, which means its not a good idea to "overbattery
@joeshmoe12301230 BTW, with identical motor, esc and prop, which do you thing is the better performing plane; the Spit, or the P-51? It looks to me that the Spitfire's wing makes it a better performer in model form....
HEY STEVE... YOUR DYNAM VIDEOS ARE THE BEST... THANKS FOR ALL YOUR INPUT... DOES THE DYNAM RECIEVER ADJUST THE EXPONENTIALS AS YOU MENTIONED OR DID YOU MEAN DUAL RATES ON THE DIAL???/ THANK YOU AGAIN.....
@VETTE811 Thanks! the knob is kind of a cross between expo and dual rate, depending on which way you twist it- "expo" counterclockwise, "dual rate" clockwise, although it's actually just "less" or "more" throw- but it works beautifully- I wish they had one on my Spektrum!
@mayi420uplease Haven't flown that particular one, but the Spit and Mustang from that line are kind of "flippy" as you might expect- light planes with decent power and big control surfaces. (Both got totally destroyed without crashproofing in our normal crash testing, so we don't carry them- too cheap to spend money reinforcing them, so...)
@mayi420uplease Oh- to more respond to what you're asking- these planes have a much more "realistic" flight envelope because of their size and weight, and if you ask me, they're easier to fly than lighter "flippier" planes like the Airfield 800mm line. Now, if you ask me about the Airfield (FMS) 1400mm planes, I'll tell you about some GREAT flying planes! Check our FMS vids!
Heads up, there's a nervous nellie on rcgroups saying that you are super scary and going to hurt somebody. Just so you know that he might contact the authorities or something. Lookout. The thread is called "Someone stop this guy or someone is getting hurt from him"
@spraynpray Thanks- it takes all kinds. I wonder exactly what he means? Generally speaking, there's nobody around when we fly- I wonder who I'm going to hurt? Denise maybe?
@spraynpray I saw that- thanks VERY much for the heads up!! We're planning a series of videos shot in a bubblebath with no planes or rubber sharks- nothing to scare anybody...(key up JAWS music...)
hey steve! i started with the hobbyzone super cub, moved to the parkzone t28, then got the dynam c47. would you reccomend the dynam p51 or spitfire as my next plane?
@Killerplanes ok, so the dynam p51 would be best? (My parents want to get me a new plane for christmas Lucky me!!) and with the crashproofing, what is it? i watched your videos so i know what it does, but what does it look like, how does it go on?
@flyingfan11 Do your parents want to adopt? I could get rid of mine... Crashproofing is carbon fiber rods and tubes, and some other plastic parts. You CAN get the stuff anywhere, but we're the BMW of Crashproofing design after a couple of years of testing (it's all in the design!) Our Dynam P-51 kit is $35 with the plane ($105 installed), and it has 17 rods and tubes drilled into various places. Your plane last as long as 4 "unproofed" planes - it's worth way more than the price!
@Killerplanes hmmm, i think they will want to adopt, if you are willing to sell it, but we wont be buying for a while, until a couple of days after christmas once i have my DX6i, and the one you flew in this video, is it crashproofed?
@flyingfan11 Yup. All the planes in the video have custom Crashproofing Kits installed. See our other video (Dynam Spitfire Lawndart Crash) of some idiot (don't know who that could be) running the Spit til the battery runs out and STABBING it in- then launching it again with a new prop. It didn't even crack the plane- Crashproofing in action!
@flyingfan11 Actually, they must affect it some ways, since it's adding some weight- but they fly like the planes in our videos, which are ALL Crashproofed. That's so you can see how they fly, and so I don't wreck the new planes when something happens, like the receiver failure during FMS P-47 testing that led to THREE bad crashes before we figured out what the problem was. Total damage from 3 crashes? The prop shaft got bent in the last crash. Otherwise, not even a small crack!!
@HawkFighter4 Nice- a screen name after my plane! Did you get one yet? And the T-28 comes with a 2200mah 3 cell, and after crashproofing rebalance and air duct install can handle a 3000mah 4 cell if you want, or a 4000mah 3 cell
@jaygdav I'm with you there! We're testing and filming the power upgrades now- the vid will be ready in a few days. It goes FAST with a 4 cell, and we're going to test the Dynam 40A ESC with it- that should scream pretty good, too!
@TheBob455 Yes, 4 cell batteries are good in all 3 of these planes, since they all have the same ESC, motor, and prop. You need to make some cooling vents, though. In the Mustang I just cut out the nose vent (which was closed) and added a 3/4" square exhaust in the back of the belly bulge. To make nice STRONG vents, use a piece of clear vinyl tube (from the hardware store) to line the hole you cut in the foam, and glue it in with hot glue. That's what I'm doing in the Spit (bottom) nose and T-28
the dynam mustang is a great flying plane i made a couple of changes to mine i put rubber tires on to try to ease the shock to the landing gear ...cause it bends easily ..and a 4 bladed prop with a 3 inch dubro spinner 2blade..carefully cut out for 4 blade.. 11-5 works real nice and a esc upgrade to 40 amps.. when are you going to have your crashproofing kit for the dynam mustang?
@TheBob455 WOW! Sounds like it might go orbital! I do the much simpler method of upgrading to a 4 cell 3000mAh battery, and it becomes a MONSTER- all of the electronics are rated for 4 cells, and nothing overheats (if you open the nose vent and make an exhaust in the back of the belly scoop) All 3 planes have the same power setup, right down to the prop, so it works for all of them! We have the crashproofing kit now! If you have trouble ordering, drop us an email through the killerplanes site
@TheBob455 Forgot to mention- I think the gear in these is SUPERIOR and strong! If you need landing practice, may I suggest the HC Hobby A-10- it's the plane that taught me how to land on wheels! I have OVER 3000 (yes, 3 thousand) landings logged on mine, and the gear is still going strong- GREAT touch and go plane! You can pick one up on the killerplanes website, and I'll throw in a free KP t-shirt!
@Killerplanes sorry about that steve how i should have stated that the landing gear bends easily if your not careful ..but then again that would apply to all airplane models..but i like the look of the grooved rubber wheels too and it makes things a lot softer when the plane lands...
My Three Sons. I get it. Clever! Denise said "lift off" which makes sense because later she says "it's a rocket!". I got criticized in one video when I called it an engine instead of a motor. One of these days I want a nice collection of like 6 planes. I thought you had painted the bottom the same color as the top which would be dangerous for me cuz I frequently confuse top from bottom when it silhouettes. I'm done with HobbyZone and ParkZone. They make disposable planes made to destruct.
@patcoston PIck up these 3 with crashproofing, and you'll have half of your 6, and you will be EXTREMELY HAPPY with these planes- better than Parkzone in every respect, and FAR less expensive! They're in stock waiting for you at killerplanes!
