I am from Chennai. I live in New York city and although there are many "Indian" restaurants here, places serving food with that authentic taste just don't exist here.
The next time I go to madras, Ill have a Masala Dosa. Thanks for your Vlog, makes me cry. Im going to visit Chennai soon although my family tells me things are changing very fast.
@binoyrakesh Do you know of any good South Indian places in NYC? I'm living in Chennai now, but I'll be looking for idlis and dosa when I get back for sure.
@nicholas0lson Hello ! I suggest 'Anjappar' in New Jersey for Chettinad food(It is run by the same people who run the restaurant chain here in this video). They were going to open an Anjappar Retaurant in NYC, Im not sure if it is up yet. For Vegetarian Tamil food(great for breakfast), I suggest Saravana Bhavan, they operate in Manhattan in two locations: 1. Midtown - 10th Ave-West 80St. 2. Downtown(lower east side) East 26th and Lexington Ave. Close to Madison Sq. Park. Have fun. :)
@nicholas0lson note: anjappar serves mostly non-vegetarian food, so if youre vegetarian, you'll have very little choice, nothing really. But, if youre looking for really rich, spicy tamil food with various types of meat, go to Anjappar in Iselin NJ. Totally worth it.
It would have been better if you could have pronounced the tamil words properly. (the dishes names). Well I guess if you are not a chennaite, you wouldnt be able to. Imagine saying other cusine dishes with an indian accent. Other than that you rock :))). brought back my memories
@vijaya16 . Is that what you call Canadian, I thought you were trying to catch up in both world. Rasam is not soup, also try to research before you view you points to other. later

@madhumitha13 Even if it was with a Canadian accent, I still got the words in there (rasam, kutu, sambar) :)
