@ElectricSexPants Looks awful? First noticable aspect is the rich images so it doesnt "look" awful. And to judge a Godard film by its trailer defeats the whole ideology of why and how you watch a Godard work.

this movie wow'ed me. my brother and his girlfriend were watching this non-sense piece of shit and i felt attracted to see it just for the lulz. it's not even lulz-worthy, because some people even take it seriously. i laughed for about 2 minutes, then i felt sad for them. and for anyone who tries to watch it.
@JinnIsLegend or maybe you are too stupid, for both commenting on something you haven't even seen and calling someone who has seen and commented on it stupid
HOLLY SHIT!!!! this is just like KOYAANISQATSI...IM NOT GOING TO SEE IT...as a matter of fact ALL MOVIES ARE JUST LIKE ALL PAST MOVIES...IM GONNA STOP WATCHING MOVIES TOGETHER...IM A PRETENTIOUS HYPOCRITE
@StevenEscolar Well Steven, I agree that movies have fallen so far into the toilet that you need an economy sized drano in combination with an electric snake to get them up again. But is this movie like KOYANNISQATSI, or is the trailer just cut that way? It's hard for me to believe that Godard can still make a good movie, as NOTRE MUSIQUE was pretty damn worthless. I'm not giving up, though. The remedy is feeling and poetry. Anyone who sets out to shock has already failed.

Godard was a god to me a few years ago. I've seen nearly all his films, I'll see this too, but I now think that his feted "return to cinema" with Sauve Qui Peut in the 80s marked the beginning of his decline. Even now his films are worth watching, but they are saturated with bitterness and sometimes embarrassing generalisations (viz. the minority exemplars such as the Navajo in Notre Musique). I don't want him to be Hollywoodised and happy. But, if he must, give me anger - not empty bitterness.
@avastyer I think Notre Musique is a wonderful film, one of his best! The Navajo a "minority exemplar"? What does that mean, please? It's open to interpretation but I can't help thinking that the juxtaposition of Navajo with the passage involving Mahmoud Darwish makes an obvious link between colonial injustices...
I'd never seen anything of Darwich before seeing this film, and since then I've read his poetry. it's beautiful. I was also put onto Simone Weil and Hannah Arendt through his films...
@DonLusher I mean that the Navajo is nothing but a cipher of his minority status. Patronising and stupid, in my opinion, and actually pretty Spielbergian. There were some good things about Notre Musique, but the purgatory sequence was just that: purgatory (apart from his amusing lecture). It's good that JLG turned you on to Arendt etc, but good taste does not equal good film-making for me. I prefer his angrier 70s films like Numero Deux. They're more involved, less distant, less depressed.
If you've ever seen a Godard film you know it will not be anymore comprehensible in normal motion. Pretentious garbage that gives real art a bad reputation.
@stob000 You are very limited in intellect and experience. When you stop being impressed and overwhelmed by this kind of filmmaking you will have graduated to a higher level and will understand. Until then, claiming that someone who doesn't like Godard is boring or doesn't comprehend is just ignorant.
What is this music? I must know!

saw this in theater but did catch the preview anywhere. It now has meaning. I hated the film itself but I can redeem it now.
