I'am going to do this course( BOSIET) next month along with the MIST course. It's going to be something special if it will be the same as in this video. Can't wait till it starts. Will try my luck to get the job on an oil rig in the North Sea.
completed a few courses in november and havent had a sniff at a job even with a relevant background, where as i know guys that were postmen and in the army ,not exactly perfect training ,yet they got a start hmmmm very strange ,these places should be working closely with oil companies so your at least getting interveiws
Thanks for posting this! My husband just did this training in Robert, Louisiana. I'm glad to know that there is this training out there for you all to be safe in case of a crash! Stay safe!!!
I'm a Master of an Offshore unit with a Helicopterdeck. Of course you should need the HUET. Its 4 years valid and more and more companies are looking for it. You need the course also if you are requested to fly out from a rig to the shore side or vice versa.
In case you have more questions go to HUET and look for Aberdeen courses.
wanted to go for this class, but its expensive. Its the most important ticket to get to get into the offshore workforce. Gosh, how i really love to go offshore...
That training chopper makes the Petrofac setup at Altens look mediocre. The "windows" held on with velcro come off as the training rig sinks and the rebreathers don't self inflate. Where was this?
going to do a bosiet course tomorrow, i'm trying to find work offshore, hopefully i can. i need to do all the survival courses fbefore i can start looking
@dzrina I've been working in the Offshore Industry for 32 years, Ireland, UK, Norway. Last year, people known to me died in a helicopter crash in the British Sector of the North Sea. I was in Norway that sad day. The next morning, I and Norwegian colleagues of mine did what we always do, we suited up and got into a helicopter to work in the Norwegian Sector. Work goes on in the oil and gas business. So far, so good.
