  • @pgpeachess Unfortunately, you can't. The best you can do is apply a toner lacquer on top.

  • @chompo7 Thanks. I should have mentioned that this RCA is one of the more valuable in my collection. Definitely worth the effort to preserve it.

  • Sometimes I wonder IF it would be better to simply make a new cabinet. Of course one would have to have some cabinet maker skills with hand tools to replicate the original, but at least it could be made of good solid hard woods rather than veneers and such. I have two old Philco radios. One has very beat up cab (1937). The other is restorable (1946). Two power tools would do it, a radial arm saw, and a router. Other than that, HAND TOOLS!
