I remember a very scary TV spot for The Howling, being banned after it was shown on a saturday afternoon when kids could see it. Later, it was shown again on a TV review show called 'Look Here' hosted by none other than Brillo-pad wig wearer Andrew Neil.
There weren't any MacDonald's in Scotland in 1981 so the MacDonald's ad is new to me. But how I hate that clown! I could ring Ronald MacDonald's neck. But I liked Bernard Cribben's Hornby ads. I bet he was cast for these ads because he'd been Mr Perks in The Railway Children. I wonder how he'd get on nowadays on the Hornby Thomas the Tank engine train sets or the Hogwarts Express train sets.
As someone commented when this clip was uploaded before, odd to see a film that under-14s wouldn't have been let in to see advertised during Tiswas, though of course it had plenty of viewers aged over 14 as well, so it's more understandable than during any other children's programme. I did always think the IBA were quite strict about these things, though ...
The voice on the Aurora Model Motor Racing Championships ad is very familiar indeed.
Of course, the erstwhile voice of Capital Radio idents and (as an allusion to that, I've always thought) the narrator of Saint Etienne's 'Finisterre'.
