no they will not bite in the ground on which there standing....unless they think there is food on the ground, and its also never safe to hold a tarantula, they geht scared and try to run, then they fall on the ground an die...i have seen that

is it true that they never bite/sting any surface they walk on, which is why it is safe to hold one?
