Music and Cars are the same problems... they sounds and looks the same today than years ago, you could be able to tell apart because they were completely different from each other. Today life is sad because everything looks the same with not much of a character.
I love the motels since I was 12 years old when I first heard them in 1982. She is so different than other singers, much relaxing to my ear with a glass of wine! It calms me down after busy week!
Yes alot of people whine about the 80's but if you compare it to modern music..their was much more originality and experimentation in the 80's. Todays popular music lacks imagination and passion.
Every generation says the same thing. Truth is, as you get older, you loose touch with modern music and can't relate to it so you assume it's no good. There are good and bad groups from all decades.
Actually I like alot of modern music, however if you look at just quality...You notice alot of popular modern music has no Musicianship and is mostly computered generated tripe. I know this because I myself make some of this tripe. It sounds good but it doesnt take much talent to do it...and that is the difference between popular modern music and the 80's, Musicianship.
Good call semitar6, the quality of modern music is coming from generated programs - not from the heart & soul of person making it, the "musicianship". The 60's,70's,80's & early grudge 90's were the times where cats got out there & lived it, wrote about it and then played it 'till they droppped. As for sound quality - go 2 any gospel church & clean out ur ears & that'll beat any computer generated sound hands down. Just like the lateness of this reply, classic music will always be timeless.

Thats true,each sound coming from the instrument,true talent in the 70s and 80s.
unlike today sounds are mimicked by a synthesizer,no talent in that.
No more originality coming out of any new groups today.
