Some of you less than kind condescending critics miss the point. There's a good reason why many "studio" musicians remain faceless and why Mick Taylor is Mick Taylor. Time won't pass you guys by because you'll never have "a time". Don't want to be harsh but when a couple of wannabes criticize like that it's kinda hard to take. Go shred in some closet please.
Bass player singing Sweet Home Chicago" ; Mick is using Freddie Kings "Hideaway" as his main theme and varying from that. Sweet home has a theme, and the old blues guys have to be given their due. You can vary all you want, as long as it is tasteful, but the main theme (riff, lick, hook) whatever you want to call it should be used as a catalyst for the song. jmo
@LBjim no,true ya cant take that away from him.he was good in his day,but all things must pass.its just that mick peaked along time ago thats all.players evolve forward,others really dont.thats kind of the way it is.however certainly he deserves respect for all he's done for English blues.Todays players learned from guys like him,and now many top players can simply do so much more.theres sooo many smokin players out there its ridiculous.
@dempsey981 I agree with you on the part that time has passed on his playing. I think as he got older his physical limitations passed him but I love his stuff with the Stones and John Mayall..Peace,JM
@LBjim sure he was a well respected player back then,personally i didnt know his playing very well,but lots of my fellow musicians talked about him.these days many well healed bar musicians play as well as mick does in this video .time keeps a rollin on.

@dempsey981 I agree with you that there is talent in everybig city and more guitarist than ever. Many can shred faster than MT and in the ears of many " Trump" him in other ways. Yes Mick has slowed down hes 60+
But.........Mick is a very melodic player never overplaying and playing beautiful solos that fit each song. Thats a talent that many of these local hotshots simply dont have. Mick is a musician and mosts these posts are simply recognizing and saluting his talent . Thats all
