As I said before, using this logic, one could build a 20 story building with a gigantic spire, and technically have the worlds "tallest" building. The towers I'll admit are much nicer looking than Willis, but technically not taller if you remove the spires.
The Petronas Towers were never the worlds tallest buildings. The Sears Tower in Chicago still had more floors, but they added those spires on the Petronas towers and Guinness gave the record to them. By that logic, you could build a 20 story building, and add a 2,700 foot antenna on it, and you would have the worlds "tallest" building. Ridiculous!

This isn't Malaysia bashing! GUINNESS BOOK listed them as tallest buildings in the world. The spires - while more aesthetically pleasing than Sears (Willis) Towers antenna, are not the "building" (IMO) as they are not occupiable . As I said before, using this logic, one could build a 20 story building with a gigantic spire, and technically have the worlds "tallest" building. The towers I'll admit are much nicer looking than Willis, but technically not taller if you remove the spires.

The Petronas Towers were never the worlds tallest buildings. The Sears Tower in Chicago still had more floors, but they added those spires on the Petronas towers and Guinness gave the record to them. By that logic, you could build a 20 story building, and add a 2,700 foot antenna on it, and you would have the worlds "tallest" building. Ridiculous!
