I bought this one is black from musicians friend website in 2007. At the time i didn't know it was available in the ivory color. fucking love this guitar though. plays really nice!

Rythmtr epiphone has been apart of gibson usa since 1957. The epi sg's i mentioned are under a strict watch by gibson usa. The only reason why the eppi's cost much less is because the overseas luthiers make much less money than the usa luthiers.

And a few days ago already the epiphone limited edition 50th anniversary 1961 sg sold on EBAY for $825. Theres only 2 guitar companys in the world that make and the REAL SG's they are gibson usa and epiphone period.

this is a cheap $400 copy of the expensive $4000 Gibson SG tuxedo, I prefer my Bumstead that look better and have my custom electronic mods for the same price as an epiphone.

Jesus do i have to give everyone a history lesson. What we know as an SG was the replacement for the Les Paul, because for some reason nobody was buying Les Paul's in 1959. So Gibson designed a lighter cool looking radical design and they called it the new Les Paul, but there was a problem Les Paul himself hated the guitar so he wanted his name removed from it, but they had already made a ton of those little plastic covers that say les paul so for 3 years they put them on and then stopped in 64'

The reason it says Les Paul Custom, is because in the '60s Gibson released the SG in the Les Paul series, but Les didn't like it and made them take it out, and that's when it was called SG for Solid Guitar. Don't ask why it says Les Paul Custom again.

i got dat shit its so sick, great for metal all the way to jazz, clean, and blues the middle pick up gives the guitar a wide verity of tones and sounds. i like this guitar allot because there are three volumes and one tone. so it can have so meny differnt tones, so i love this guitar and i recomend it!!!!!!

the sg was originally released as a les paul but the guitarist les paul said it looked to evil so they called it the sg which is short for solid guitar i own a 66' reissue sg

what do you think i should get? an epihpone riviera custom or this? i liek playing jack white songs and really distorted post hardcore music and all that, so i dotn knwo what p90's would sound like, and three humbuckers sounds liek a great deal to me. but the riviera also has 3 pickups( single coils) so what would be beter for my sound? ( distorted, jack white raconteurs esque)

yours would be a regualr g-400 or a g-310 this one is a custom with three pickups (which they all have) they are also gold instead of chrome

no... its this guitar, i just replaced the hardware *tuners/bridge* and the pickguard throwing out the middle PU. why you ask, i wanted the inlays and the custom headstock.

yes, because when they just releashed it , it was a kind of replacement for the les paul because of its weight.

@ledzeppelin9102 Back in the day, Les Paul decided to create a new version of his guitar with double cut aways.. it is said that he didn't like the new look and eventually had his name removed from it. The SG was born. This guitar is a tribute to the original SG - or Les Paul as it was once known. That's why you see Les Paul right there on the headstock, and if you look closely you will see a plate with the same writing between the nck pickup and the fretboard.

Does it have 3 pickups like this one? if so, you need to buy this and a black pickguard with it, then swap the white part on this guitar for the black. If there are only 2 pickups, that is just the regular G400 SG, which I own
