lol i live right next to the river there. i took a walk that same day, and saw a car in the middle of the water... then i dropped down and just laughed like hell!! but i do feel sorry for whoever's car that was

This was a very rare moment indeed. I'm glad I got to saw it. It's scary though. I live along the river. I was babysitting that night, too. So when the Police came to get everyone, it was scary. But good thing everything is better.

My dad works at new page there and he said the basement was flooded, and behind the stone castle the water was level with that loading dock back there, and he said the currant was so strong in there that he couldn't barely walk north.

At the spot where the pictures are taken at about 1:49 or so, my grandfather managed a store from about 1912-1918. I can see why it used to be called GRAND rapids. The old pictures of the town being damaged by flooding make more sense with this video.

We have friends that lived in that area that said it was the worst they have ever seen it. Thanks for sharing the videos and photos. Good choice of music. Looks like a lot of clean up to get back to normal. I am sure glad that the dams held up to that high pressure. Take care

ha ha by the way (September 26, 2010) where I took these photos the areas are now closed off because of drift wood was pushed into the rails or onto land from over night guessing? well the area by the bridge.. The roundabout is dried up right now

@BobnFrankrppl2 Rapids I had school only school closings. That I know of was the smaller towns mostly up north like Thorp I remember was closed the 24th.

great video!! i was there on friday and in the same places and it was like 70% as high as on here....i have never saw the park by the mill gates w/ water going over the wall...usually it's really low there and stinks!

@ketagawakei no its all the rain the North woods and central Wisconsin got its in video description if the dams broke I think I'd be even worse

@dnkbrier aww shut it usually Youtube doesn't let me post super long videos at first I thought this was going to be long. Thats why I was moving quick to show as much as possible. Also the camera I was using is made for pictures so I don't expect the video to be perfect. Also zoom is not your friend.
