I find this to be a fun and interesting listen. I enjoy the sound of the basssoon as well. I would disagree that the bassoon sounds wiser than a sax, though I am a sax player myself, I would say that it more just has a different voice. That double reed makes for a whole new world of voicing and timbre for sure. Thank you for sharing, this is very good performance!

Wow, this has inspired me. The bassoon is hardly ever used in jazz but I find it's timbre to be very similar to the saxophone. The best I could describe is the bassoon sounds "wiser" than the sax. Perfect for Take Five. I'm gonna go experiment with this, maybe throw in some french horn for the smoother finish and a flute for flavor, lol.

oh wow this is amazing. i've been playing bassoon for a very long time, but never can i produce a quality sound. i believe its the bassoon i have itself. it really sucks and can not keep in tune. whenever i play on someone else's bassoon i can easily stay in tune. but i dnt sound like a basoon player...prolly since i taught myself
