I really like this song, even though I don't like much of DiJ's more "danceable" tunes. It's really catchy... unlike that half assed cover of "Little Black Angel" made by Ladytron...
Fantastic song , although slightly different from the rest of the DIJ catalog. An essential track for the long-time devotee. But not a good track for a newbie to DIJ, it will set the balance off and might set an incorrect impression of the rest of their music which again is under-rated and will last forever.
Every time I hear this song, no matter which version it always triggers a a good place in my drab life.
i can't believe people who call themselves real DIJ fans dog on this song. This is a great representation of the style Douglas P was going for at the time. A huge dance club floor filler! Great pictures too!
Well its a Patrick Leagas song, its his voice and music. I can understand people who dont like this and prefer Douglas P:s voice and music . But I love both Leagas and Douglas! this is one of my fav songs ever.
Actually, this song was written 100% by Patrick Leagas, who indeed reprised it numerous times with his later project 6 Comm. He also played it live in the tour this year.
The early DI6 was an alchemy of 3 different personalities, it wasn't just Douglas. Every electronic song on "Nada!" and the singles released at the time was written by Patrick.
I had a 303 as well. this track would take 3minutes and 3 instrument tracks plus the drumset.
I love DIJ's accoustic material, but this sounds so much like every other dark wave club tune from the time.. pretty forgetable, but danceable but boring.
Nada! was a fantastic album, featuring many facets of Death In June, from the industrial to the modern folk. Still, albums like What Ends When The Symbols Shatter still uphold DI6's amazing reputation as being purveyors in Neofolk. They plumb the depths of the human mind. I cherish each and every one of their releases equally :)
:20 I took a screen shot of this and used it for my desktop for a long time. All these photos are excellent. This should be the official video for the song.
Lovely stuff, ma'dam! I love the Deutsches Kreuz and Totenkampf. A++
Oh, and go easy on the nazis/fascists... they have alot of good ideas, they just need to be pushed in the right direction- I suggest large ammounts of Evola, Crowley, and Nietzsche, balanced with a healthy dose of Tantric Buddhism.
This song is from the Greater time of DIJ... Really good 1. And the pictures brought back some beautiful and sad memories... I mean, they changed their colour into a sad 1 in 9 years' time. The whole work, and probably your trip as well seem very much influenced by early DIJ -
Nice pictures. I love this song! I remember when I bought the 12" of this song w/ the whip & glove logo embossed on the cover. You should do a video for my fav. DIJ song: "She said destroy". That would be great! Thank You.
DIJ greatly admired Joy Division

Wakeford was also involved in this sound
And of course and it is his Patrick Leagas!!

Sadly, you hardly heard DIJ in the clubs in San Fran.. Unless I requested it and Ed always played it for me..
brknalice 1 year ago
The main diffrence is that the vocals by Patrick Leagas not Douglas P, sounds more like his later project Sixth Comm, which is great!

if you had a MC-303 groovebox in 1992 you'd know how average this "club track" is.
Its just DIJ + a very average Roland program.
theroob 2 years ago
Actually, if you had a "brain" you would know that this song came out in 1984 and at that time it was far from "average".

@coalhalo any music from the 80s is superior to the drivel today.
