  • wait a minute 0:08 so she use normal bike and the others are not? that's not fair, right? cuz definitely she's faster than others?

  • Props.

  • WOW! Beautiful and a fighter!

  • I love it! "Unfinished business" as well as the "I can't. Excuse me?" - both great life lessons!

  • unbelievable!!!! respect for all who finish something like this!! what she did is more like incredibly awesome!!!!! For the past couple months Ive been training intensely for a half IM next week, but im so scared that I may not make it…… any last minute advice?? Last week I saw a new movie, “Discover the Gift”, which talks about being true to yourself and do whatever you do best giving 100% all the time. I loved it! facebook. com/discoverthegift

  • @smorales3308: Thanks for your movie recommendation!

Aka "The Gift" - cp. imdb.com/title/tt1445206/

  • @smorales3308 how was your half ironman? where did you compete?

  • im almost positive, that you came to my school last year, and showed all of us this video. this really inspired me to one day complete the ironman!

  • Luv, Luv, Luv, Luv thiiiiis video/story. You go Sarah!!!!

  • my hero!! wish i could do the ironman with her!!!

  • Thanks for helping me stay motivated

  • She came to my school and talked about this! Shes a great person and i'm glad she didn't give up and just think that since she was different she couldn't do what "normal" kids do.

  • Reinertsen is a bad chick! Can't imagine doing what she has done.

Please, watch my video on my channel, The Adventures of Kona Man. I'm in a competition to win a triahlon sponsorship!

  • sarah wow you are amazing women are an example for people that have parts of your whole body and not even worry about care congratulations sarah

  • bad ass

  • His sports are exemplary!

  • I would like to take her on a date.

  • I had tears in my eyes as I watched this video. You are truly an inspiration!

I started training for the ironman South Africa about three months ago. I can honestly say I have never felt like I have a bigger goal in my life.

Ironman has changed my life and I haven't even done one yet!

I want to become part of that elite group of finishers with all my heart.

Thanks for helping me stay motivated!

Ironman - Because 226km is just too far to do alone!!!

  • Shes beautiful, truely admirable.

If she can do it then anyone can. Iimpossible is nothing.

    Iron will.

  • at least she wont get cramp in her left leg

  • how the hell can you ride with a leg with no muscles???

  • @25jonathan She has one good leg, it would be possible to peddle with only 1 leg. The one that's missing is at the knee, that means she is still able to use her gluts which is were most of your power in cycling comes from.

  • i just finished my first olympic and i was pretty overcome with emotion. i can't even imagine what she felt, but just seeing her pretty much tells the story. awesome.

  • ERES UN EJEMPLO A SEGUIR. CONGRATULATIONS FORMA BARCELONA

  • "the 1st female above-knee amputee to ever complete an Ironman Hawaii "

Not like being the first man on the moon, but OK.

  • you know she probably has had more boyfriends than most regular chicks just because of her warrior spirit, men respect that

  • She's a tough motherfucking hero, that's what she is.

And this is where she made it: /watch?v=jv2aI46F07M (possibly the best EVER vid on IM).

  • OMG- I LOVE THIS WOMAN!!!

  • wauw. people like her is real athletes, people who live for the sport and the desire to challenge yourself.

  • thx to the custom bike guy

  • @Spike20TRILLION I would date her, make her my girlfriend, and marry her... I just wouldn't race her because she would kick my butt so bad.

  • Mer imponerande från Ironman

  • love her

  • why do people get a leight bike n put loads of paint on it!?

hold the cans of paint and imagen that but a tiny bit less n thats whats extra on the bike....

  • i have to agree with you and also to add something.. I see some bikers here in greece that have like 10KG of fat on their body and full carbon bike, like everything is carbon, why dont they lose a couple of kilos and they will see a difference

  • Unfortunately, some people would rather pay big for grams than work hard for kilos.

  • this is so true man

  • What are you talking about and more importantly why?

  • thort it oredy made sense....

these road racer people obcess over lil grams on there bike trying to get them leight as possible, then go and put a thick layer of paint wich is alot when people get £150 seat posts becouse ther abit leighter than the origanal

  • There should be more women like her!

  • Quality. Good girl! What attitude. An inspiration.

  • good job Sarah :) Congratulations

  • man, if she can do ironman, anyone can.....

  • I very much disagree.

  • she came to my school

  • she's awesome, do you have he phone number?

  • Valla atleta, motiva aun más para segir practicando el ironman.

  • she gives me motivation when I don't want to train, she's wonderful

  • Same for me. When I get out of bed and I don't want to run because it's cold or wet or I'm tired I get on youtube and I watch these videos and I feel so grateful for the opportunity to complete such a great challenge that I can hardly find my shoes fast enough. She's right, we all want to do something extrodinary.

  • What a fucking hero she is!

  • omg i saw her at ma skool

    Kasi

  • Watching you in transition after your DNF is the most beautiful, most heartbreaking, most representative moment in Ironman since Julie Moss. Thank you for allowing us to share it.

I'm doing Wisconsin in 2009 and will undoubtedly revisit that moment many times. My hope is to feel your pain so truly that I can make sure it'll never happen to me.

  • You are my inspiration .. from Bangkok Thailand

  • shes so hot to!

  • Sarah?

    you are my Hero :)

  • I so much admire her stregth and valor:)

Shes something totally unique and amasing:)

    Go sarah

  • yes... really, iron heart....

  • IRON HEART

  • you are the best

  • unrail sarah verrrrrrrrrrrry well dun. i finished the uk ironMan last year and i no how hard it was... u must hav felt great cus i no i did...... keep up the good work

  • Go Sarah, sometimes it takes some longer to reach the goal, but by getting up and overcoming the obstacles you become a true hero.

  • Don't say you can't ...

  • Yup, that's the message. Or more precisely, a part of it. Since even if you can't, it's the energy you were able to mobilise before a goal that makes the goal so valuable to an extend, that the actual result does not count as much as one might think in the first place.

The way is the goal is the way. :)
