  • Canada has a disproportionate amount of talent.

  • MAN I love the short post Brodie does at the end. So much power!

  • I woke up with a line from this song stuck in my head yesterday and for the life of me I couldn't remember what song it was. I'm so happy I finally remembered :) great job guys!

  • Okay, that's awesome! We sang this in our Swing Choir last year. You all give me a reason to stay up late watching YouTube videos! Thanks for being awesome and sharing your gift!!!

  • Aw! Awesome as usual!

  • Sweet!!!!!!!!!

  • Danny is amazinggg

  • excellent!

  • I love this! Your voices blend so well! =D

  • This is fantastic! My personal favourite swing number, this used to be my finishing piece back when I sung with the local Jazz Orchestra. I don't suppose you have a transcript for this or anything? I just ordered a mic to start doing multitrack videos and I'd love to give this one a go! Thanks!

  • Ooohhh... nice =) I like it =)

  • I listened again and loved it again! It always helps to start with great material, and this song definitely is.

  • You guys are a very good quartet and it's a good thing that your stage presence has gotten better because barbershop counts a lot on good stage presence.

  • Really good...but get the lead a little louder

  • jk i made this comment not even realizing which one was lead lol

  • To me, you guys ARE first place! Hope your quartet will keep on signing until you're 64. :)

Great music. You guys are super talented.

  • That must have been one amazing quartet that beat you guys to the first place, because that was a great performance!!! You guys are fantastic!!

  • awesome! i love barbershop quartets! =)

  • I know like you said in the side that you really didn't incorporate anything, but one thing that really does help you get better is treat each performance like it's the big stage. Then when the big stage comes, not only have you improved greatly, but you know that you are going to give at the minimum 100% effort. Keep going at it! You guys have the talent to definitly be something good.

  • That's a good point man. We'll definitely keep it in mind.

  • fantastic! love it. keep up the good work.

  • You blokes sound pretty damn good. Don't worry about that "only placed 2nd"... The standard over there in the North American part of the world is higher than anywhere else in the world, so foreigners like myself can appreciate just how much more competitive it is!

  • Wow Dan this is just incredible...

  • Thanks Stew. You in any a cappella groups right now?

  • BRAVO!!! Goosebumps, Thanks

  • Aww man, Danny Fong. You never fail to impress, do you my friend? I love it. That last chord was solid.

  • Thanks Lauren :), I see you found my youtube account.

  • Nice work guys. I am like you - new to BBS but have done a fair bit of listening. you boys are sounding good. nice blend and plenty of energy. I love the ping in Brodie's voice too. Keep it up and keep posting. My quartet may be posting soon too!

  • They're pretty good aren't they, mate?

  • There's a quartet that sings with my chorus that sings a killer rendition of this song. I love this rendition but I might suggest that the lead play around with dynamics a little on the piece. A jazzy swell thrown in at the right places definitely makes the song more soulful; trust me.

You guys have a great thing going, I hope you are competing!

  • When you say Anaheim, is that Anaheim, California? If so you let me know when you do make it (because you will at some point) and I'll get some of my barbershoppers to accompany me down there and meet you.

  • The International Collegiate Barbershop Contest/International Barbershop Competition has different venues each year. This year it's in Anaheim, CA. 2010 is Philadelphia, PA. 2011 is Kansas City, MO. 2012 is Portland, Oregon. 2013 is Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

  • Great job on this difficult chart! My quartet has been working on it, but it's not performance ready yet. I was pleased to meet you guys on Friday night, and disappointed you didn't win, but as you know I didn't see you perform as we were getting ready to come on stage. I must admit that I thought The Distance deserved the score they received, but I was hoping you might receive even more. All their guys had competed before, so you did very well in your first competition. Next time! Al

  • How did The Distance score anyway?

  • On Friday night they had Music - 263, Presentation - 280, and Singing - 280, for total of 823 or 68.6%. On Saturday night they had Music - 270, Presentation - 267, and Singing - 272 for a grand total of 1632 or 68.0 %, good for 8th overall. My quartet was 12th with 64.5%. East York won the Chorus Contest with 69.3%. I was awarded Barbershopper of Renown which made it a pretty good weekend.

  • Hey, 2nd isn't so bad, is it? Well, I think you were great! And in case you won't make it as a wild card, I wish you good luck for the next time.

@Andrew: Please upload that other video Danny was talking about I want to hear it!

  • look at the guy with blonde hair at 2:09, haha but i love their voice, make more videos, 5 stars

  • hah...which one LOL

  • i love it

  • Sucks you only got 2nd, I thought it was GREAT! Awesome job guys!

  • You guys were just great. I don't understand how you placed second. I really hope you get the wild card spot--you deserve to go to Anaheim.

  • I could totally see you guys in Anaheim...

  • Smooth! You picked a great song, and the harmony was well blended.

  • boo ya

  • I had a feeling you'd post this one...

  • heh.. well you can post the other if you want ...

  • who the hell was snapping their fingers through the whole thing. I don't care if they can't help but move.. but I want to break peoples fingers when they fuck up a live performance.

  • it's the lead isn't it? dummy...

  • well look at that. HQ really does make a difference.

I've been made the dummy today, but I still feel like breaking some fingers, Timmy.

  • snapping is brodie's method of slowing us down when we start to rush.

  • lool Snapping is cool when it's on 2&4 beats !!

  • It's called syncopation, barbershops often use it, as does reggae and ska.

    It is awesome as fuck.

  • i love snapping, so if we ever meet i'll be watching my back :)

  • Sounding great!

  • hey !! That was prettyy good right here !! =D nice Ab at the end ^^

  • First. :) Great job!
