  • fantastic!

  • I just purchased a canon remote TC-80N3 to do something like your video...Well done,i loved it...cheers

  • Awesome vid!! How did you do that??

  • Wow, this video is awesome! :D nice work!

I've thought about doing this a long time myself, but at the moment I don't have any camera :/

  • Dude! This is my new favorite youtube video of all time! Amazing! Did you put the flashing lights in in editing?

  • Are these hard to make? My science teacher showed us these and I wanted to know if they were hard to make.

  • amazing video, cool sound!

  • Świetny film ! Aż nabrałem ochoty by wyjść z aparatem i robić zdjęcia.

  • Awsome video!!!! I loved it!!!!

  • Polaris still dead center?

  • I want to make this star trails into my wallpaper :D

  • Fucking Epic! Awesome sound choice and awesome photography!

  • how long was each still that you took?

  • @THEboarder177 usually between 20-30 seconds depending on how wide your lens is before the stars start to leave trails,

  • sweet! 01:13 - LOVE THIS!!!

  • Dan, i really enjoyed your artwork. Thank you.

  • How come one of your time lapse shots show stars trailing ( 0:03 ) while the stars in a different time lapse dont? ( 0:40 )

  • @Fangfm I think the :040 are fast shutter speed lime lapse and the :03 are slow shutter speed timelapse

  • How do you do star trails I just get how you combine the pictures :(

  • ty rebell !!

  • wonderful pics

  • THIS VIDEO IS PERFECT. Ahhh I love it <3

I've been dying to try this sometime!

  • You bastard you made me buy a cordrelease intervalometer for my d3100 or whatever they are called , atleast now you have to tell me the name of this tune :)

    awsome!!

  • @sopalen Ratatat - Loud Pipes

  • THIS IS THE COOLEST AND MOST AMAZING NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!

  • very very beautiful!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

  • I love your video! Just breathtaking! How do you do you make these star trails video in motion? I'd love to try it as well. Thanks!

  • how do you make the videos of the stars moving , o.o

  • How can you have a well lightend sky and tent at the same time? Do you use hdr or something? Beautiful vid btw!

  • First thing I thought before I even saw something was RATATAT! THUMBS UP FOR THAT :D

  • I fucking love you man !!

  • What music is this? Excellent timelapse you have created. Love it. Thumbs up from Norway.

  • i watch this when i need a lift. works every time, damn its so good :-)

  • 5 people are blind

  • what was the location of the last place with the tent??? please respond i would love to go there

  • Beautiful ..

looks like a Van gogh painting ,

  • everything in your work is fabulous.

  • amazing.. i like the sky at night.. your photos are amazing..

  • did you shoot it with manual? or Av or Tv? can you give some advise. i would like to do this timelapse thing.

  • How do you get the contrast between the video say at 10 sec and then the video at 39??

  • RAD!!!

  • Outstanding!!

  • How did you get the trails to be blurred short trails and then move across the sky? Programs I've started using just blur the whole length of star movement creating streaks that show the stars full movement over the entire night - saving at each stacking step to create a timelapse that is similar to your effect in the final photos. Any guidance for creating that effect you used would be cool. Great inspirational work man. Thanks

  • this is the best video ive seen on utube.

  • Awesome work dude! :D

  • the songs is by the group Ratatat, most likely off the album LP3, forgot the track name

  • I liked and favorited the video but i need to know what song that is!

  • @NoahFB96 Artist - Ratatat, Album - Classics, Track - Loud pipes :)

  • what's the name of the song?

  • I think I've heard this song before with singing over it. Anyone know what that would be called? Great video!

  • @HedgehogOutdoors NEVERMIND just remembered what it was

  • Did you somehow reverse/mirror the image? I've noticed star trails observed from the northern hemisphere focusing north spin COUNTER-CLOCKWISE, whereas yours turn clockwise. I'd be interested to know...

  • @suddenlyitsobvious There are no mirror images. As stated, f you view the north star, standing anywhere from the northern hemisphere on our earth, the entire celestial sphere rotates counterclockwise. But, if you face south, the entire celestial sphere appears to rotate clockwise. If you view the video again, you'll see that when FACING NORTH (see :30 seconds) the stars rotate their normal northern hemisphere rotational direction counter-clockwise. However, I am not always facing north.

  • @xenimaging

OK thanks, I get it. The early sequences in your vid were facing south, which I could have known because the center of rotation is below the horizon...

Nice footage. The nightsky is amazing in Nevada.

  • If these are not in a national geographic somewhere then...well i dno what but there jaw droppingly amazing,id love if you made a short vid explaining how to paint the objects in your photos?

  • Wow! I am in awe of what I have just seen! Thanks for sharing this. I have just taken a renewed interest in photography and this is something I've always wanted to do but just have not clue how.

  • You're an amazin photographer!

  • what's the track name?

  • so amazing!

  • Wonderful proof of fixed earth and geocentricity as the Bible teaches. Thank you.

  • @CalebsReport It isn't “proof” of a fixed Earth, may I answer with a quote:

Wittgenstein: Tell me, why do people always say it was "natural" for man to assume that the Sun went 'round the Earth rather than that the Earth was rotating?

Friend: Well, obviously, because it just looks as though the Sun is going round the Earth.

Wittgenstein: Well, what would it have looked like if it had looked as though the Earth was rotating?

(I Heard Richard Dawkins saying this somewhere.)

  • Time-lapse rulez!! Do you know you can make time-lpase movies with any camera with this device: (copy address to browser): tempusALL.bymac.org

Works with ANY camera! ckecl it out :P

  • just fantastic! Its great seeing somebody put so much effort into something productive. The results are amazing. Nice work there ;)

  • good music choice! this video is awesome!

  • kinda light painting, but here the stars that paint the sky...

  • Question... how do you maintain such even exposure of the scene which goes from day to night. Seems like an auto exposure (Aperture priority?) would be a little less even...and manual would lend itself to camera bumps and a need for constant change.

  • And when the lights on the rocks start pulsing witht the music. Whoa Nelly. Over the top. One of my favorite time lapse vids EVER.

  • Wow... I have just started time lapse. Now I know what I am shooting for! Oh my.

  • This is absolutely incredible work. I'm very interested by your compositions and exposure. This sequence is powerful and creative. Very good stuff man.

  • Hello. I have a couple of questions on set-up and settings. Which lens did you use and how long was the time exposure and stuff like that on some of the images? Not the final ones. I liked the ones that have smaller trails. Like on the one on 1:15. Thanks

  • Ok I just started doing star trails and made my first 5 sec time lapse video....in mine the stars are just rotating...and do you get them as the trails and rotating????

  • sweet choice of music.

  • @xenimaging Do you mind if I use the same song and layout for one of my videos? It will be my first and I want it to look as good as yours does. Only it won't all be stars, more clouds.

  • good!

  • 3 people missed.

  • stop motion?

    wow it's fantastic!

  • It's Absolutely awesome .... can u please suggest me a good remote for it ... do u reckon Satechi TR-M Timer Remote Control for Nikon D90 is good one or any other as i have nikon d90 18-105 mm and 50mm 1.8

so can u please tell me what's f stop and shutter speed do i need to use to take some beautiful videos like ur's ... if u can please send me a mail to sharath_88@yahoo.com or rsharathkumar81@gmail.com.. it would be great ...

keep up the good work mate !!!!

    cheer's

  • Wow Awesome! How inspiring. I want ot take picture like that!

  • Dude this music is awesome (photos too)!

  • Awesome choice in sound to accompany the images. For those of you wondering who it is:

    Ratatat- Loud Pipes.

  • woooooooooooooow at 1:14

  • wow! your work is amazing i am inspired to look up at the sky more often than i already do

Brilliant song choice, one of my all time favorites.

  • Awesome! thanks for sharing

  • As a fellow Astrophotographer, I am left scratching my head as to how you pulled this off. My hat is off to you! Simply the most amazing sky time-lapse I have ever seen!

  • whats the name of the song?

  • i'm not sure if this will mean anything but for the first time, after watching this video, i want have a goal in life and that is to see and capture the galaxy in the same artistic way you did

the thing is im 19 and this is the first goal ive actually set in my life and hopefully ill be as good at photography as you one day

  • @tcsdef Wow! I'm speechless... That is the nicest compliment I've ever had on my work! Good luck with your photography and feel free to MSG me with any questions.

  • what is the shortest possible time that you can do to have a star movement effect? and i have the Rebel T3 coming and i am very interested in bulb type pictures, but i have heard that taking over 10 minutes of video at a time will make it overheat, will it still be bad for the camera if it's a long bulb picture?

  • RATATAT :)

  • i can take long exposures so i get the "star trail" and i can also make a time lapse video. but how do you make a time lapse video with the trails on the stars? very nice video, i like the shoot you did with the galaxy 36 seconds into the video. very nice.

  • WOW! Talent and then some. A friend of mine sent me the link and I MUST say that I love it. Thanks for the shareing of your work.

  • I love it when you stumble upon one of the most creative videos on the internet!

  • WOW ... F#$ing sick.. that is too cool

  • Wow really amazing very nice video!

  • what is the song that you use?

  • I love watching these because it really makes the idea that we are on this huge circular plant that is always rotating and moving. its easy to lose sight of that

  • I loved the Ratatat behind it. It just made it that much better.

  • Stumble you show me how awesome the world is

  • awesome work!

  • @selllout101 thank you :)

  • This video is absolutely incredible :O and the music's good

but how do you do such a long timelapse without the battery running out?

  • @danthecat21

Most of the sequences in the video are shot either with a Nikon D300 (using a battery grip - 2x batteries) or a Nikon D3 (which allows me to pull off about 8 hours of shooting)

  • Incredibly awesome!

  • Done like a pro! I will be going on my first photography trip next week to Zion NP, and I plan on taking a ton of night shots! Do you have any tips, tricks or advice for someone doing this for the first time?!
