You bastard you made me buy a cordrelease intervalometer for my d3100 or whatever they are called , atleast now you have to tell me the name of this tune :)
How did you get the trails to be blurred short trails and then move across the sky? Programs I've started using just blur the whole length of star movement creating streaks that show the stars full movement over the entire night - saving at each stacking step to create a timelapse that is similar to your effect in the final photos. Any guidance for creating that effect you used would be cool. Great inspirational work man. Thanks
Did you somehow reverse/mirror the image? I've noticed star trails observed from the northern hemisphere focusing north spin COUNTER-CLOCKWISE, whereas yours turn clockwise. I'd be interested to know...
@suddenlyitsobvious There are no mirror images. As stated, f you view the north star, standing anywhere from the northern hemisphere on our earth, the entire celestial sphere rotates counterclockwise. But, if you face south, the entire celestial sphere appears to rotate clockwise. If you view the video again, you'll see that when FACING NORTH (see :30 seconds) the stars rotate their normal northern hemisphere rotational direction counter-clockwise. However, I am not always facing north.
OK thanks, I get it. The early sequences in your vid were facing south, which I could have known because the center of rotation is below the horizon...
If these are not in a national geographic somewhere then...well i dno what but there jaw droppingly amazing,id love if you made a short vid explaining how to paint the objects in your photos?
Wow! I am in awe of what I have just seen! Thanks for sharing this. I have just taken a renewed interest in photography and this is something I've always wanted to do but just have not clue how.
@CalebsReport It isn't “proof” of a fixed Earth, may I answer with a quote:
Wittgenstein: Tell me, why do people always say it was "natural" for man to assume that the Sun went 'round the Earth rather than that the Earth was rotating?
Friend: Well, obviously, because it just looks as though the Sun is going round the Earth.
Wittgenstein: Well, what would it have looked like if it had looked as though the Earth was rotating?
Question... how do you maintain such even exposure of the scene which goes from day to night. Seems like an auto exposure (Aperture priority?) would be a little less even...and manual would lend itself to camera bumps and a need for constant change.
Cool stars! but if your camera has infrared remote capability, you or someone who want to try time-lpase photography, could use an infrared time-lapse remote like this one: tempus.bymac.org
This is absolutely incredible work. I'm very interested by your compositions and exposure. This sequence is powerful and creative. Very good stuff man.
Hello. I have a couple of questions on set-up and settings. Which lens did you use and how long was the time exposure and stuff like that on some of the images? Not the final ones. I liked the ones that have smaller trails. Like on the one on 1:15. Thanks
Ok I just started doing star trails and made my first 5 sec time lapse video....in mine the stars are just rotating...and do you get them as the trails and rotating????
@xenimaging Do you mind if I use the same song and layout for one of my videos? It will be my first and I want it to look as good as yours does. Only it won't all be stars, more clouds.

what is the shortest possible time that you can do to have a star movement effect? and i have the Rebel T3 coming and i am very interested in bulb type pictures, but i have heard that taking over 10 minutes of video at a time will make it overheat, will it still be bad for the camera if it's a long bulb picture?
i can take long exposures so i get the "star trail" and i can also make a time lapse video. but how do you make a time lapse video with the trails on the stars? very nice video, i like the shoot you did with the galaxy 36 seconds into the video. very nice.
