Sorry to be a downer, but it doesn't have a waltz beat. A waltz has to be in 3/4, but this song is in 4/4. You're hearing the *kick* *kick* *snare* pattern, and it sounds like a waltz to you, which is fair enough, but it still has four beats per bar - therefore it's not a waltz.

Heh, it's what would call an 'Irish waltz' - it goes: 1 2 3 AND | 1 2 3 AND |... Eh, bad joke, sorry :)

No I don't really want to be anal about it, but in modern musical parlance, 'Waltz Beat' means 3/4. Plain and simple.

I see you got some great facts from Wikipedia there, but unfortunately we are not currently in the 19th or early 20th century. In 2010, 'Waltz' refers to a meter much more often than it does a dance.

Maybe you 'rested your case' somewhat prematurely there.
