@ComicPenius I'm not sure what you mean. Those internet features are awesome! I personally use them every day in my own home. I use the internet Radio tuner all the time local Radio (Great for local AM stations), we also use Pandora quite a bit and it sees my NAS drive that feeds the whole house. Not to mention the MOST important part. It Sounds much better than an Onkyo. Onkyo has a much brighter sound than a Denon in my opinion. It's OK if you like Onkyo. We like our Denon.
@ComicPenius I also forgot to mention that My Denon can receive firmware and feature updates. I don't think Onkyo is able. The other thing that works great for Apple Airplay users is that the Airplay App will open inside of teh Denon Remote App. That is too cool! I'm positive that Okyo cannot do that. last but not least... The work Denon came from 2 Japanese words. "Denki" and "Onkyo" meaning "Good Sound". They did that back in 1910. When did Onkyo come about? About 70 years later???
@HomeTechnologyStore Onkyo were pretty awful ten years ago but from what I've been reading, since the the X05 series, they've started embarrassing the other companies. I bought a Denon 3312 a while back and it seemed great then my father-in-law bought an Onkyo 809 for about the same $ and I still can't believe how much better it is - particularly the amplifier power. The 3312 weighs 26lbs and the 809 weighs 40lbs! Onkyo has firmware updates. There's still no "feature" updates for my 3312.
@ComicPenius Onkyo has internet radio and iPad/phone control /watch?NR=1&v=7T878eLWnB4 - not that I care since I use a Harmony remote and a HTPC which destroys any lame web features that an AV receiver might have. The Onkyos are finished in brushed aluminum - Denon are all plastic. The Onkyos can do perfect digital HDMI passthrough with OSD, Denon converts HDMI to analogue to do OSD! (Disgraceful)
I could go on.....anyone want to buy a Denon 3312?
Great review. Bought this a month ago based off your review.
I have an open living room where this is set up. So I haven't set up my rear channel speakers yet.
Upgraded to new Infinity Classia speakers and it sounds amazing between the two new additions.
Just need to get the app set up on my IPod touch and I'm all set. Easy connect to Internet with Ethernet cable. So easy to find all kinds of streams and podcasts.
Very strange, mine looks completely different...Source select knob and metal buttons :S

Onkyo is killing Denon at the moment. It really seems like Denon are trying to bluff their way by hyping useless internet features.
