YESS!!! thank you so much this is exactly what i was looking for i didnt know which finger to carry over but the thumb like you pointed out is easiest!!
Very nice teacher but please cut your finger nails. No serious classically trained pianist has long finger nails!!! Long nails will also hinder speed and accuracy while playing.
I am a classical pianist and music teacher sorry just couldn't let that slide.
Great Video. Little embarrassing but me and my daughter have been learning together and I have been using lessons like this and other ones geared towards beginners. I really love the piano so far and the best lessons we have experienced so far was from MasterOfInstruments. com (no spaces.)
Hi, great vid. Are scales all done with 'one two three one' etc. for all the keys?
Also, is learning scales a matter of memorization first, and then after a while your mind instinctively figures out the major pattern (whole whole half, whole whole whole half..) no matter where one begins on the keyboard? Or is it more your mind sees a certain key and sorta downloads the muscle memory pattern to the fingers? Hope that made sense.
Hmmm Cute creature

She is a pleasure to look at, but this is a finger's game, close-up shots of fingers on the keyboard would be nice.

Basically, does one use brain memory, muscle memory, or logic more predominantly when mastering scales? Ugh the more I write the stupider this seems.
