omg mines do that to too and ijust went natural. im thinking years of heat may have done that but i only pressed my hair two times since nov 09 when i decided to grow natural...its very furstrating
I finally found someone with this same issue; however, 1/2 of my head has this issue :(. I have been natural since august and I haven't done a Wash n Go yet because I just don't know how to deal with it.
I have the same problem with the front of my hair as well. Its loose waves to straight and that's because I wear my hair in a bun. Brushing my hair back and focusing on trying to get it smooth. It's like I'm trainning my hair to be straight. SO NOW INSTEAD OF USING A MEDIUM BRISTLE BRUSH I USE THOSE PLASTIC RUB ONES...so maybe this is why your hair is loose wavy in the front too.
My hair is exactly the same way the back and the middle of my hair are very coily but when it comes to my front it looks like I stretched it with a blow dryer an never reverted or something hopefully I can get it like the rest of my head
omg i thought i was the only person woth this problem i am blasian so they call it but my hair is more on a extra curly and very thick side so i wear my hair in that puff style ever since ive been natural which is like about 2 years now but yea idk it stays the same too no matter how much the hair grows its heart breaking lol but your hair is really nice i watch ur videos all the time thanks for your help :)
Im going natural and i have only 4 months of new growth and im noticing i have a wavy texture on the top of my head aswell but the rest of my head is very curly :(..hmmph lol
I love your blog SOOO much cause I am so frustrated with my hair sometimes that it makes me cry :( It really makes me sad and I don't know what to do with my difficult because it just takes so much time to do. Thanks so much for your videos!!
My hair is the same as yours and I'm 8 months post relaxer...this is my 2nd time transitioning (the first time I was completely natural in 2 yrs) without doing a big chop. I just cut it as it grw, which was hard. I'm actually thinking about doing a texturizer this time bc I'm having a change of heart with the natural hair and the thickness. I like to wear my hair straight and rollerset 90% of the time. But yea, the front of my hair is the same as your and the back is curly.
Thanks for posting this video. I too have really no curl pattern in the crown area of my hair, while the back and sides are 3a to 3b. It is frustrating at times, but I think once the top hair get a lot longer it will all blend better. Thanks for sharing this technique. I will try it for sure.
for the longest time i thought i was subscribed to u and im wondering, y is she not making videos anymore lol. and i happened to stumple across ur video and was like omg im not subscribed! u said u were having trouble with ur two different textures. u could try the curly girl method. mahogony curls uses this method. check out her videos to c if this method works for u.
CUTE STYLE! I've only been natural for about 5-6 weeks. My hair is just like yours...and the top of my hair will not curl at all either. It frustrates me soooo much. What is your hair type? I'm sure we have the same. Thanks so much for sharing. Please post more styles that you do and how you get that top part to blend in with the rest.
very nice & now i remember who was that brought the giovanni mousse to my attention...lol..i like usin it for my twists cause it gives it a nice hold w/o the crunchiness..great job...ur hair looks great..keep up the good work
OMG I was just doing the same thing. My front is the same. I twist and bantu knot the front to give it the look of curls. It so strange how it wont curl. I took my fake dread locs out and I'm ready for the summer! This is my first summer completlely natural. I Love it!
Happy Mother's Day to you! Love your results. I think almost every natural haired person has different textures, lol. Hey, maybe you could Bantu knot the wavy top portion & when it air dries it probably wouldn't be tightly curled because that portion of your hair is wavy, just a thought. Wonderful tutorial.
I have the exact same problem in the front. I've found that doing a couple of 2 strand twists around the size of my natural curl and setting it with gel and a small perm rod at the end blends my hair so well when i take it down its hard to tell which is which. Once its dry I simply take the twist and separate it in the two sections but I don't split them like a twist out. Hope that helps!
I have 3 different textures and it can be frustrating sometimes...Thanks for making this video and giving me hope...lol. I usually do the same thing with my front and just gel it back nicely...HHG & God Bless!

@anaturalbeauty3 I wear my hair back alot. I wonder if that makes it worst.

@seemyhealthyhair I thought I was the only with this problem . Thank you for making me no longer feel like a werido =)
smoochin84 1 year ago
@seemyhealthyhair
I think pulling it back "trains" the hair to look flatter or straighter.
I am relaxed but natural hair is close to your texture... and back in the day I could never wear a afro because the front would lay down limply. :)
kcam213 1 year ago
@seemyhealthyhair I to have the same problem but its just one small section in the front. I have 3B and 3C curls every where else.
jonesshantrell 1 year ago
@seemyhealthyhair 'yeah it does because the front of my hair started out coily but when i wore it back a couple times it wasn't curling anymore
FutureFiDMStudent 1 year ago
@anaturalbeauty3 that could be because you comb it back alot then the hair gets flat.. do you know what i mean..
