  • DETROIT REPRESENT!!!

  • Hello FunkmassaVip, thanks for having this song, I've been looking for for quite a while now. Is it possible you would have this in MP3 version to download?

  • I was first exposed to them on American Bandstand in '81 and ran out and bought the album this song was on. That's when New Wave was in. I played that damn album to death. Wow, those days.

  • I was at University of Windsor in 1985, the MFA was it for me on saturday nights.

"When you get to the end of your rope, don't let go...tie a knot and hang on...cause ain't nobody bad like you..."

  • DID YOU SEE THEM ON BANDSTAND

  • Divine Sounds had a routine back in 1983 with this song. This was before What People do for Money dropped. Mike had a protege by the name of Super jay. He would dance a beach boy style dance, Before carlton from the fresh prince tv show

  • Straight Classic

  • I had this album and American Worker in high school back in the 80's.

They were fantastic then and unmatched now.

  • If I remember correctly, this was a group that Eddie Murphy was producing or something (remember they were in the first "48 hours" movie. Anyway, I agree with statelybird3 ...this is a badass album, so if you can find it grab it. I have been looking for it for about 3 years now, so if you find it let me know where!!!!

  • I remember Electrifying Mojo playing this in the early 80s. I would go to sleep listening to his show!!!

  • Oh my god Electrifying Mojo.. I have not heard about him in ages.. you must be from Detroit.. He had an awesome program.. remember the motha ship?

  • Excellent song, entertaining and even a bit profound.

  • haha..my mother has this song along with many many others from back in the day on an old VHS video intitled my awesome music....hahaha..gotta love it...

  • why the fuck is this album so hard to find?!

  • Thanx for putting this on YT...could you please put up "Little Suzy" by the BB?

  • I sa these guys several times back in 1980 at the Starwood in Hollywood and yes, The Bus Boys were playin with the Twisters that night. So was Roach (Roach and the White Boys). They were a really great act. I haven't heard this song in over 25 years but I still remember all of the words.

  • Thanks for posting- great memories. Always thought this song was funny,

  • First time I heard this song was when a guy lipsync'd to it on a lip sync contest show called "Putting On The Hits" back in the 80's.

  • I remember that show. That show was cool. The 80s was the best decade...ever

  • DAMN...i remember that show too. That brotha was wearing a sharp suit...nice gear! he was dancing like a mod...kinda

  • It was a black kid named Dino (DEE-no) and he won that episode. I never forgot it and have searched for this song on and off ever since... fucking awesome! :D

  • You are correct , sir.

  • I remember Dino!!! Until I saw him, I was only vaguely familiar with the BB's!!! He cemented them in my psyche!!! lol

  • Freak my freak! This is crank man! I love it! My fave bus boys tune right here! Awesome! Thank you from the bottom of my dancin shoes to the top of my hairsprayed head!

  • Good job funk, this be coming from a metalhead. I know classic when I hear it!!!

  • This was a great Jam in Detroit in the mid 80's. I saw them in concert 1 time in downtown Detroit. Awesome jam!

  • i love this jam, the busboys are classic as hell and should have been as big as the cars and prince

  • Detroit Radio is in the house. This was the shit on WGPR Radio. Black New Wave Funk. Can somebody please post Lil Suzy by Ozone. That was the other Black New Wave Funk classic from that era.

  • EXCELLENT! I've been haunted by this ever since I saw some kid named Dino perform it on "Puttin' On The HITS" back in the 80's! I think he won that round too, by the way. LOVE IT!

  • so trill. check our profile. then click our playLISTS!

  • that was so cool is there a video for this song i remember this was one of my first albums yeah album there was anthoner song on there too that ill never forget ANGIE yeah those were some fun fun times. Q-VO.

  • Hell yeah--I love this song---I heard it on a station in 1986 that played alternative music mainly at night---liked it so much I ran our and bought the cassette---the whole album is the bomb, and definitely worth tracking down. I never undestood why these brothers didn't make it bigger either---my guess is that since they were a black rock band, they were considered a mere novelty and nothing more--a damn shame. Saw them on BET briefly in 1986 saying the music biz was pretty racist to an extent.

  • This is classic! The Electrifying Mojo used to spin this in Detroit on WJLB during the Midnight Funk Association radio show. You've brought back some great memories. Thanks.

  • I remember Mojo from back in the WGPR days as well hes by far my favorite DJ from back in the day....Thx for listening

  • @FunkmassaVip Minimum Wage Rock and Roll was an awesome album it came out about the same time Tommy Tutones 1st Album did 1980 I think thanks for the video.

  • Yes I agree 100%, The Electrifying Mojo would not only spin this but other great songs also back in the day. I miss those wonderful days and Mojo. I wonder if he's still spinning and keeping his face from being seen. haha! Do you remember him playing space music for nearly 20 minutes before he started playing music? haha! Back then he was on WGPR 107.5 in Detroit!

  • @SupremeBeatsInc I remember The Midnight Funk Association.Loved it!! Mojo put out some of the best mixes that even today can't be touched!! Been trying to find this track for a long time. Thanks for sharing!
