  • nice video.. nice discussions in comments... :)

  • This isnt the real 12th man.. Seahawks are. This should be trademark infringement

  • The "12th Man" is absolutely a 100% Texas A&M tradition. The Seahawks layed claim to this about 70 years too late. Nice try though. Been to FB games all over the country (Big 10,SEC, ACC) and this place EASILY has the loudest fanbase (yes, Kyle Field) I 've experienced. Just one mans opinion.

Coming from a MSU/Lions fan in MI.

  • growing up in Indiana Hoosier fan i knew about the the Texas a&m 12th man.. i hate hate that Seattle seahawks tried to steal it as there own..... ironically i live in the Seattle area now

    go Hoosiers!!!

  • Season tickets and sports passes are both sold out.

    We're ranked number 7.

    It's loud, it's real, it's original.

We shake the stands when we saw 'em off, we stand the whole game, we turn the stadium maroon, and cause delay of games.

Come to Aggieland and see the real 12th man. Then go back and enjoy professional football.

Yuck, professional football. No loyalty, no steady players, just a bunch of money and a lack of passion.

  • "Come Sunday morning, someone won't be #1 in the nation...

    in kick-off coverage."

Yup I don't miss Fran at all.

  • 12th Man is from Seattle. Only 2 things come from Texas: steers and queers and I don't see no horns on you boy...

  • honestly its not even a question who the real 12th man is....the Aggies

you just got to be stupid if you think seattle's is better

    from a bears/irish fan

  • The 12th man is a cricket comedian. What is this shit??

  • @corbetstevens

I see you are a stereotypical stupid ass. He was part of the football team but quit the previous off season to play basketball. The coach called him back to play because he knew the plays. He was in the press box telling the sports reporters of the day who was who and what play they were doing. The coach knew that and called him down because he knew he would come to play if need be.

  • Your players play for money. The entire time A&M has played football, the percentage of professionals to moving on to other careers is huge. Most players move on with their career fields after finishing the season. This shows they play for the fans. The Seattle Seahawk's players play for money. If they don't play then no pay. It is about heart not noise. You don't understand what to be the true 12th Man is.

  • 12th Man isn't just about being loud dipshits. It is about being supportive of your team. Granted the noise helps. The 12th Man is the idea of the student body being ready for the call to play in emergency just as the first 12th Man did. A&M plays for something bigger. They play for the 12th Man. The Student Body. Seattle honestly think before you speak please. You think noise is what the 12th Man is about. It isn't. You people don't understand the true meaning of the 12th Man.

  • Any seattle fan that thinks their "12 man" is better than the Texas Aggie 12th Man is an idiot. There is only ONE 12th Man and thats the 12th Man that resides at Kyle Field not some crappy stadium in Seattle. Oh and as far as your "tremor"...who gives a crap. My ass gives off larger tremors than your fans do.

  • way to steal from us seahawk fans

  • @the12thman19

A&M's 12th Man was coined in the 1920s

    Seattle's "12th Man" originated in the 1980s

I know you didn't go to A&M but try to do the math

  • Comment removed

  • @aggiesfan95 i meant way to steal from us, the aggies. I'm an aggie too

  • seahawks 12th man is way better!

  • Historical facts:

*A&M's 12th Man was coined in the 1920s

    *Seattle's "12th Man" originated inthe 1980s

*A&M sued Seattle for copyright infringement after Seattle made a Super Bowl (Your "12th Man" is "more well known" huh? Why did it take us so long to discover it? Oh yeah, Seattle's one of the worst NFL teams ever).

*A&M agreed to let Seattle use it ONLY by acknowledging that A&M is rightful owner of The 12th Man.

    Corbet, LoveLetter, consider yourselves owned.

  • @metallicarox80s Who takes more pride? Who was almost on the cover of Madden? SEAHAWKS!

  • @cgpacers13 thats a pretty dumb argument because they wouldn't put a college fanbase on madden...

  • A&M has a louder 12th man, ive been to both stadiums and A&M is louder and came up with the 12th man, seattle you are weak!

  • @sfgiantsluver that's why we caused an earthquake. You are stupid.

  • @denniseck3 i dont think a trimor = earthquake. you probably went to t.u.

  • Dear, the Texas college of Agriculture and Mechanics, Long Long Ago, in the january of 1922 there was a man named E King Gill a basketball player. Your school was unsure if you would win the Football game so you called Gill (a basketball player) to suit up, form the stands mid-game. HE NEVER played nore did he make noise, HE STOOD. And he was the original 12th Man. Then 6 DECADES later 66,000+ fans of SEATTLE SEAHWAKS made noise that changed the outcome of a game and are now legally #12

  • @corbetstevens dear seahawk fan, Gill was a two sport athlete, football and basketball. obviously you failed reading comprehension because he was willing to go in at anytime. Thats a real 12th man. not some b.s. Seatle meat heads screaming about a hawk. Tell me when your stadium can hold 85,000+

  • The HEAR ALL END ALL The "12th man" term has been used by various Football teams including the NFL's Seattle Seahawks, Buffalo Bills, and Chicago Bears in reference to their supporters, though the Bears no longer use the term "12th man" as a tribute to their fans, the Seahawks retired the number 12 during a game on 15 December 1984 .Since then #12 Jerseys have been sold by the team and worn by Seahawk fans. The Seahawks also have a ceremony before each home game where a flag bearing the #12

  • The HEAR ALL END ALL The "12th man" term has been used by various American football teams including the NFL's Seattle Seahawks, Buffalo Bills, and Chicago Bears in reference to their supporters, though the Bears no longer use the term "12th man" as a tribute to their fans, the Seahawks retired the number 12 during a game on 15 December 1984. .....cont..

  • hahah. The arguments from the Seattle fans are so weak its funny. Maybe if yall had...Idk...maybe a Super Bowl win to back ur arguments up they'd seem valid. But the lack of rings just makes them feeble. Even then the only people who would be ignorant enough to think Seattle fans are the "true 12th Man" are...well...Seattle fans. lol And that right there ruins all your credibility. I couldn't be more proud to be a part of THE original (and really the only significant) 12th Man. GIG EM AGGIES.

  • 2 words for the aggies: sore losers

  • @corbetstevens how, exactly?

  • @sisk22 read all the comments all ya'all have posted, there a tad aggresive just becuase they are not know as the 12th Man anymore.....Sorry but acceptance is the first step to mnoving forward with your lives, here's an idea be the 2 or 37...I don't care just stop bitching we ttook your number.

  • @corbetstevens we just set an all time record for student attendance in a game.

as in... most students in COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY to attend a game...

    fail.

  • @sisk22 and sorry but read my last comment, copy and pasted right from YouTube.. We have Noise Records (their is a noise ordiance on building new stadiums now) we have offsides records we have.....doesnt matter....Leaglly WE OWN THAT NUMBER!! GET IT.. YOU filed a lawsuit, guess who won..we did!! Sorry Time to move on from the1920's

  • @corbetstevens Noise record? You have an enclosed stadium. We do not. Your argument is already flawed.

In January 2006, Texas A&M filed suit against the Seattle Seahawks to protect the trademark and in May 2006, the dispute was settled out of court. In the agreement, Texas A&M licensed the Seahawks to continue using the phrase "12th Man" in exchange for public acknowledgement by the NFL franchise as to Texas A&M's ownership of the phrase.

    Get owned, bitch.

  • @sisk22 READ ALL ABOUT IT READ ALL ABOUT IT QWEST STADIUM IS NOW ENCLOSED......YEP SEAHAWKS FAN THIS COWBOY WENT AHAED AND CLOSED ARE STADIUM......it not even retractable genius

  • @corbetstevens Enclosed. I didn't say indoor. I said enclosed.. as in, it's a full circle structure with no gaps. You're childish. A&M owns the 12th man phrase and have allowed the seahawks to use it. I'm not a cowboys fan, I'm an Aggie fan.

  • @sisk22 its not a full circle either dummy. Both ends have open gaps to show seattle skyline, and the roof is open. Ha! Amateurs, only 12th man that matters is in professional football. Any texas a&m kids would kill to play for the real deal 12th man.

  • @YourLoveLetter lol you're a fucking moron.. A&M owns the damn phrase.. you're an idiot

there are no breaks in the stadium.. look at the stadium.. there are no gaps. it's open at the ends ABOVE seating.

    fucking a you're retarded.

  • @sisk22 READ ALL ABOUT IT READ ALL ABOUT IT QWEST STADIUM IS NOW ENCLOSED......YEP SEAHAWKS FAN THIS COWBOY WENT AHAED AND CLOSED ARE STADIUM......it not even retractable genius.....that means it wide openb in case that flew right over your head.

  • All this arguing... The Seahawks settled out of court after A&M sued and were given licensing rights to use the term. So, my fellow Seahawks fans, Paul Allen paid/pays them for it and the Seahawks organization is legally required to acknowledge it's A&M roots.

    1922 A&M creates it

    1984 Seahawks retire #12 jersey

    1990 A&M legally trademarks it

  • @reverendjordan yep i acknoweledge that not one pereson on here was alive when they started it at its roots..hahaha I'm a Tru Blue12th Man- I dont recognize anything abvout some huncky dorey hick college. Were big leagues and you make it sound like we conitinually pay these guys...NOPE...its like what i wouyld do if I could, give a a dollar and tell em' shut up. and tthats what pual did.

  • UGLY STIKCOLIN get a life! You were arguing about this over a year ago! Holy crap when will you realize nobody gives a damn about the Seattle Seahawks? I mean really! You can't tell me that your NFL team has more tradition than our college football team that has been around much longer. Get over it. Nobody but Seahawk fans will agree with you. We have all of college football to vouch for us

  • seattle by far has the loudest fans in all of sports PERIOD!

  • LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR......We are players on Seattle's Defense, our number is #12, our jersey says Fan, We own every record available for that position...understand cowgirls??? All ya'll just be simple folk who like the smell of cow $h!t in the morning, not your fualt ya be so dumb

  • @corbetstevens

Cows and simple folk: well, looks consider some statistics here, rather than unfounded stereotypes. Over 70% of the population of Texas is URBAN. In recent studies put out by CNNMoney, Money Magazine, and Forbes Magazine, Texas has more affluent and desirable places to live than Washington...even in one part of the state (Dallas, or Houston alone).

It's not your "fualt" that I "be so dumb." Irony at its finest.

Enjoy constant rain and depressed/suicidal Washington.

  • Money, Money, money....shut up about the money magazines..Bill Gates? Paul Allen? ever heard of em'?? They live in seattle Jackoff and Allen owns our team. sorry your poor, i wont pick on you anymore, ohhhh BUT... I CHECKED YOUR STATISTICS AND YOU MADE THEM UP, you made up %70 pop. is urban. lol

  • @corbetstevens

You think you're actually calling me out? What is the correct statistic, then? There are PLENTY of celebrities in Texas. We have also 2 of the top 15 most wealthiest cities in the nation (CNNMoney). "Check" that one too, why don't ya?

Since you "have so much money," why don't you buy some education that can teach you proper usage of the words "your" and "you're"? If you're going to insult someone's intelligence & social status, at least spell & capitalize correctly.

  • @corbetstevens sorry you have to live in Washington man

  • @austenaholley sorry the hottest girl Texas ever had moved up here and is now my girlfriend!!!!! HaHA .....she tells me about you urban cowboys, such posers. I'm a Alaskan Fisherman, she says she's finnally with a "REAL MAN" who doesnt walk around in his gear. The real McHoy doesnt need to pose

  • @corbetstevens

I've lived in Texas 3/4 of my life, and have seen maybe 2-3 urban cowboys my whole live. But sure, you can trust your ignorant stereotypes.

  • @metallicarox80s Uh......yeah...cowboy boots and cowboy hats count as posing...what you think i was talking about, ass less chaps?

I've been to dallas I've seen the posers.. I 've been to Houston, Gavelston, Baytown, Fort Worth and San Antonio (nice river walk there) but also a whole bunch dudes dressed up as cowboys. hahahah

  • @corbetstevens Cool Story Bro

  • Things for giving us the name!: ) WE ARE THEE LOUDEST FANS IN ALL OF SPORTS, WORLDWIDE. So shut up or show up because a #12 man would beat the life out a cowboy.

  • "TEXAS? only steers and queers come from texas!!!!" (full metal jacket). Come to qwest you faggies, my girlfriend was one of you, she went there. I always heard "we started it, we're the original." Took her to a game and she said never mentioned A&M again. 100 decibels on the field, that equals a jack hammer 5 Ft away!!

  • @corbetstevens

Washington? It rains there all the time, everyone is depressed, and it has a suicide rate. I'm pretty sure you're full of garbage, little boy. Thanks for bringing us all back to 6th grade with the term "faggies."

  • @metallicarox80s Doesn't every state have a suicide rate, retard?

  • @UGLYSTIKCOLIN

What I meant was, which you should have read through the context "genius," was that it has a HIGH suicide rate. You've earned yourself a cookie.

  • @metallicarox80s we have suicide rate.....whoa.....I thought every city had a suicide rate....my bad...

  • @corbetstevens

Obviously, reading into the context would reveal that the meaning was "HIGH suicide rate." It's the equivalent of saying, "man, she has a body" (it's a really good body). Need everything spelled out?

  • @corbetstevens Oh, the horror...they can hit 100 decibels! LSU's Tiger Stadium, Kyle Field, Autzen down in Portland, etc... routinely shatter 100 decibels. I believe Tiger Stadium has been measured 120-130 by multiple sources in the past few years.

  • All you A&M fans are dumb, especially the two highest rated comments, aggiefitz and txaggies16. The Seahawks never said we owned it or thought of it our selves. But what is ture is we take care more of being the 12th man and are now #1 in the NFL for having the liudest stadium. Even the Giants in 2005 files a lawsuit saying we had speakers in in our stadium to make our fans sound louder. A&M FANS LEARN YOUR SHIT BEFORE YOU SPEAK!!!

  • @iCaMp4FuN

Yeah, those Aggie fans are dumb. I mean, who uses facts in their arguments? You are really taking it to them, with your arguments solely based upon opinions.

  • Seahawks #1 12th man.

  • go hawks! the seahawks r the real 12th mman! WE ARE WAY LOUDER!

  • No one even cares about texas a&m.. their "12th man" is a bunch of bandwagoners. their crowd has no impact on the results. Seattle has always been tough, in the kingdome days and the Quest days.

  • @UGLYSTIKCOLIN

Yes, no one cares about Texas A&M. That's why there are nearly 50,000 students attending, and its the second largest fanbase in the second largest state. "Bandwagon fans"? There is absolutely no support for your worthless argument. Kyle Field still filled up 90%+seats in A&M's worst season in 30 years (a 4-8 season in 2008).

  • @metallicarox80s Qwest has sold out every game for the last 8 years. No "90% +" no its 100%.

    Despite a 4-12 and 5-11 season.

  • @UGLYSTIKCOLIN

Prove it. Let's see a source there. Either way, NFL games are much easier to sell out than college, since there are far fewer NFL teams, and loyalty is much less divided in pro sports.

Either way, Seattle ISN'T "the 12th Man." They are wanna-bes. The real 12th Man is Texas A&M.

  • @metallicarox80s Before the Chargers game last week they announced Qwest field had sold out 63 consecutive games. That's almost 8 full seasons.

Oh, and Qwest field holds a record for loudest crowd noise ever recorded at over 134 or 137 decibals, in the NFC championship in 2006.

Sorry muffincup. Your Aggies and "Kyle Field" aren't recogonized as a threat to anyone. You're just jealous because when you think of the 12th man, you think of Seattle, not the Aggies.

  • @UGLYSTIKCOLIN

I've heard that claim of 134+ decibals given by several other fanbases. Consider it invalid.

People have been hearing who the 12th Man was since 1922 and have associated it with Texas A&M's traditions of having the most active & loudest student section. Facts > opinions.

  • @UGLYSTIKCOLIN At 67,000 seats, Qwest Field is one of the smallest stadiums in the NFL and is not much larger than Kyle Field was a major expansion or two ago. At its worst, Kyle Field draws thousands more to a game.

  • @UGLYSTIKCOLIN oh and dont forget we even resort to standing room only tickets. If a Twefth Man wants in, the Seahawks will say sure, no seats, but find a place to stand number twelve.........I play as defensive distractor....Coach Pete Carroll talks to as if we are player in his YouTube channel, Coach Mike Holmgren gave (the first and only times this has ever happened, NFL or College) the Game Ball, yep eleven offsides, or was twelve against the Giants. The game ball boys the game ball.

  • seattle actually is loud unlike texas am so we are the real 12th man they lead the leauge every year for causing most fale starts cuz its too loud in qwest field baby

  • @hamiltonpope23 actually until the colts moved out of rc dome they were the loudest. Qwest field is partly covered so it traps noise. Come hang out at neyland in knoxville when we play bama and see if you still think qwest is still loud.

  • seattles known for great loud fans and yes the dome helps and yes i bet the rc dome helpd for u guys too . the sonics in the 90s were known for loudest fans and hawks have always had the loudest fans everytime we raise that 12 man flag were louder than anything u can hear the stadium from a mile away trust come too seattle and try and audible against the seahawks in qwest field ur line man caNT hear shit

  • are you seaRIOUS?THE COLTS FAN ARE KNOWN FOR THE CLASSY NOT LOUD FAQNS the seahawks have always been known for loudestt fans in the league and in the nba when we had the sonics .even if texas am is the first 12th man there not even close to as loud as qwest field on sunday and you guys cant even fillout the hole stadium

  • @hamiltonpope23

Actually, attendance records are broken nearly every year at Kyle Field. Get over your Seattle sports teams, because the 12th Man originated in College Station, Texas, in 1922.

  • This is coming from a South Carolina fan. Texas A&M IS the 12th man. Not Seattle or anyone else.

  • @apoc253 yea you got it now but if u pay attention you guys have to give us credit for it after a broadcast and lol pay us 250,000+ a season so who u think is payin for that??? I'm sure management isn't! next time try and sober up and be original! and if u look at history we have the better fans and to be honest we have more championships as well!

  • what is so special about texas a&m fans? they aren't any louder than the ones in seattle....

This episode was SO retarded. It was just 17 seconds of some fans cheering.

  • Seattle's 12th man is unmatched by anyone, period

  • 12th man belongs to seattle who the fuck cares about the aggies wtf

  • Seattle doesnt deserve the 12th man THEY SUCK. it belongs to Texas A&M for 2 reasons

    1. They came up with it

    2. THEY KICK ASS

  • Stfu Seattle sports #1, 12th man belongs to us now, sorry breh!

  • Texas A&M is THE HOME OF THE 12th MAN. Seattle stole is because they are too stupid to make up their own phrase. Still 12th Man has and will belong to Texas A&M. Seattle doesn't deserve it because no one on their team is willing to step up and plat for someone else (I bet ya didn't know that what's what 12th Man means). STILL TEXAS A&M WAS, IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE HOME OF THE 12th MAN

  • No one is willing to step up and play for someone else? That's what it means? Umm ya I think we can and have done that....wtf? STFU WE GOT IT NOW BEEZY

  • 12th Man: The famous COPYRIGHTED tradition established in 1922. during a football game head coach Dana X Bible needed a new player. He knew E. King Gill was always willing to step up and play for someone else. to this day Texas A&M and ONLY TEXAS A&M have been following this tradition. During football games over 75,000 Aggies pack Kyle Field and stand up the whole game just like what E. King Gill did.

Seattle has no clue about the TRUE MEANING of the 12th MAN

  • I would love to be an Aggie. I am a freshman in High School, and if I get a scholarship there, I am going. I love Texas A&M. I live near Baton Rouge, but that doesn't faze me.

  • good luck man im a big texas A&M fan to, i actualya dont play football though i play lacrosse but still, maybe somedaay youl be an aggie. just work as hard as you can

  • Thanks, and that is exactly what I am doing.

  • 12th man will always be ours no matter what. It is our tradition and it is what we have been for many many years.

    A-WHOOP!!

Proud to be a member of the 12th Man!!!

  • I have nothing bad to say about the Seahawks, but Texas A&M is built around the tradition of the 12th man and it was there like 50 years before the Seahawks were even around. The crowd all does yells at the same time, and I believe Kyle field has a greater capacity than Quest field. With those facts I don't understand how anyone could say the 12th man doesn't belong in College Station.

  • 10,000 Aggies are louder than 100,000 Seahawk fans. You'll never have the 12th man. This is the best tradition in college football.

  • Yeah right

  • You keep telling yourself that grantgrant.

But Seattle fans are much louder. Much much louder.

  • You have never been to seattle then.....There is a reason we get nationwide recognition for being the loudest fans jackass.....we have the best fans in sports

  • @apoc253 dude- nobody even knows yall as the 12th man except aggie fans because yall tried to steal it

  • (lavakane) you are a dumb ass only you would say that, the Seahawks are a joke TEXAS A&M has always been known for the 12th man Hell (1923) to your what 2008? and for (The Yugoslavian69) the Seahawks have former Aggies on the team you go for I wonder what they will tell you fans. Yall need to pull that stick out of your asses and realize that TEXAS A&M beat your team in court for the rights to the 12th man witch A&M has owned form 1923. Have a nice day in that shity ass state of yours.

  • Hey son, we do not vote to win championships. We do it the right way , Settle it on the field, man, what a concept. In other words, Men do it the right way. In everyone's heart, we know who earn's it

  • On the filed hu how old are you 7? The Seahawks are a NFL team they would dominate any NCAA team on the field. You probably dont know the difference from NFL to NCAA do you kid. once you know the dif then you can talk football to me.

  • Hey You Numb-Nuts,One Day you'll graduate Elementary School and realize there will be No Voted For Championships Soon. Most people take pride in fighting for something. You have No one to stop us. Get Over it. My 7-month old Grandson knows better. It's not about NFL vs NCAA. Pride and Respect for your Team.

  • yeah, seattle. a bunch of tree-hugging hippies can't hold a candle to the true 12th man.

  • @lavakane that's y kyle field is known as the home of the 12th man! LMAO and to tell you the truth probably nobody outside of seattle knows the seahawks as the 12th man but there are ppl all over the world who know A&M is the home of the 12th man shit all you gotta do is play any version of NCAA hell even the games know it's the true home of the the 12th man!

  • thats a nice stereo type of seattle i know plenty about texas A&M and that they were first were not arguing about who was the first 12th man im arguing about whos the loudest and clearly seahawks fans are cuz we lead the leqague every year with most fallse starts and we actually sell out all of are seats unlike am ive seen empty sections at games

  • Well duh, Seahawks is a freaking NFL team. The 12th man is A&M's and there's nothing you can do about it

  • lets chat

seen it yesterday! lets chat ps

  • i was there!!!!!!

  • What have the Aggies done lately?

What have the Seahawks done EVER? The only reason you're relevent now is because you're in one of the worst divisions in the NFL, and you've only won one conference championship over 30 years. And fucking lol at the guy who said your fans are louder.

  • we did not know about it till they were actually good

  • im from seattle and go to A&M and you need to stfu because you dont know what you're talking about

  • yeah, IM the one that doesnt know what im talkin about, cause i backed myself up with facts, your just biased.

  • the Seahawks, Bears, and Bills were all asked to stop using the phrase after the federal dilution tradmark act of 1995 gave A&M full marketing rights of the 12th man. The Bills and Bears agreed but the Seahawks did not respond, leading to the lawsuit. try looking into the history of the 12th man and see if the Ags are not the true 12th man

  • and evhick used facts u just said 1980s so thats not a fact...just a year

  • ha ur a joke...seatlle???that is not even close to the noise kyle field makes...u were all sitting around and u thought huh lets call ourselves the twelfth man since it rains a shitload here and our nfl team is a joke..so dont start talkin shit when u dont know shit

  • LMFAO

"all sitting around and u thought huh lets call ourselves the twelfth man since it rains a shitload here and our nfl team is a joke"

I can understand it must be rough going into the 6th grade, but try to be mature and not take it out on other people.

  • Why does it make you feel good about copying other school(s).

  • and inbred

  • 1923--12th Man was born in College Station, Texas...way before college football was as grand as it is today and marketing techniques were used for college sports. Seahawks fans are a joke to the phrase and football.

  • @Darkkoji45 doesn't it make you feel bad that the so called 12th man that you swear everyone knows is the seahawks wasn't truly known until you guys stopped suckin dick! we sued ur asses because we didn't know you were using it and just thank god we waited til you got to the Superbowl cuz your franchise probably would have folded if we would have sued sooner when you guys couldn't win shit!

  • lol i thought this was the cricket 12th man thing....

  • @UGLYSTIKCOLIN we don't share it dumbass you pay to use it!

  • Are you really trying to compare a college team with an NFL team? How intelligent of you, seeing as they can play each other every season right? Anyone who isn't close minded to the NFL knows that Texas A&M is the true 12th man.

  • "In January 2006, Texas A&M filed suit against the Seattle Seahawks to protect the trademark and in May 2006, the dispute was settled out of court. In the agreement, Texas A&M licensed the Seahawks to continue using the phrase "12th Man" in exchange for a licensing fee and public acknowledgement by the NFL franchise as to Texas A&M's ownership of the phrase."

See, even your precious Seahawks know who the real 12th man is.

  • We did, thats why we sued smart one

  • @UGLYSTIKCOLIN LMAO i laugh at how you guys weren't loud at all until you got a DOME stadium we've done it for 88 years now all of them in the great outdoors and we can still outlast ya'll!!! plenty of clips of QB's not being able to hear right here on youtube look them up!

  • Seatlle is the best city to live in so i dont know what u guys are smoking. Go Hawks!

  • its because seatle stole the 12th man from TEXAS A&M that why we are so mad!

  • It rains too much in seattle. And what the heck is a "seahawk"?

  • nope - mile high is the loudest - unbiased opinion there ya have it

  • lol Seahawks are pathetic... They steal our tradition because they cant think up their own... This tradition has been around for a couple decades longer than the Seahawks have existed as an organization...

  • Right, because the Seattle Seahawks existed in the 1920s.

Cheap thieves, go swim in the rain of Seattle. This is college's most recognized and respected tradition, according to ESPN journalists, and it originated at TEXAS A&M.

  • the seahwks are the fake ones A&M was in 1922

  • @txaggies16 so A&M still sucks. 12th man is a very common phrase and they cant trademark it. that's just being greedy

  • @jonbrakke

They have & did WAY before other people started using it

  • We made it in 1922 before the seahawks even came about

  • haha sorry acielaw but cricket a bit older then 1922

  • the 12th man is cricket aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi!

  • well actually this 12th man tradition started in 1922... i really doubt that the 12th man in cricket came around before 1922... and anyways cricket might just be the most boring sport (no offense)... but how can watch a sport that goes on for 3 days... 3!...

  • They actually play for 5 days but at least there isn't ads playing the whole time

  • actually cricket has been around for more than 200 years

  • I didnt say cricket... I said "12th man in cricket"
