Look, NOBODY WHO PLAYS SONIC WANTS TO GO SLOW!!! If they wanted to increase game time, they should have made more character customization, or maybe multiplayer, battles with other animal sonic type people; ANYTHING BUT THE WEREHOG! If you want to play that kind of game, go play dynasty warriors.

Here are some flaws with sonic unleashed (wii version) Since i played through it.
1. Sonic to werehog ratio is way off. you get one day time stage, then up to 3-5 werehog stages per continent.
2. the werehogs controls suck and get you killed a lot. especially with the dash command. instead of holding a button then moving to dash you double tap in a direction. It can be highly unpredictable at times and gets you killed.
3. the camera. Sonic has always had camera issues.
5. Instead of more day time stages they give you mini mission on the same stage. A different act would be nice.
6. playing as the werehog takes too long.
7. the dark gaia boss fight is a failure. The whole chip turning into a giant golem fighter was just so unnessecary. He's slow and unresponsive.
8. super sonic vs dark gaia. Since when in the history of sonic has he ever lost rings when he's super sonic? Never. does sega not care enough to remember that
9. Not enough lives. you only get to lives and you cant gain more lives while playing. even if you get 100 rings nothing. so you just play until you get a game over.
10. Getting game overs in the final boss fight is quite annoying. Since you only have 2 lives you get game over quite frequantly from all the BS in that fight. You also have to watch the cutscene over everytime you get a game over. they didn't program a skip ability.
11. Not to mention the story made no sense at all.

sega does care about money, but cmon! sonic is sega's mascot. Sonic is what represents sega, you can't expect them to give up on sonic. what I've noticed when I've played all the sonic games. (aside from the wii games) they have a fair amount of personality and details that rarely is seen in any new game. (the posters in escape from the city) have you checked out all the eastereggs in unleashed?! it's crazy. I do believe sonic means a lot to sega, but of course they care about money
to me playing from 1989.. (not that it really matters). Sonic isn't all about speed, but solid platforming. the classic 2d sonic games represented that. this is why I respect the werehog levels. yeah..I didn't favour the combat system, but I loved the platforming parts with the werehog. I believe they got that from ristar.
anyways, I don't have anything against sonic's new speed levels at all almost, except that there must be a strict limit to the amount of those types of levels in one game
well he is sega's mascot but if you think about it. Do you think sega puts as much effort into sonic games as their other franchises? well from the looks if it. it really doesnt look that way. A mascot should be given top notch service when their games are getting made. every year a new sonic game get's made which is not good. A good game takes time to make. I really think sonic's games would improve 10 fold if sega just slowed down on pushing them out like octomom.

some of the bugs were the dash command, camera angles for platforming, lack of lives, some times the control was a lil unresponsive.

if they took time to beta test and work out the bugs that plague the series. Like sonic unleashed for example. I mean I didnt like it but you can tell they took their time with that one. The werehog platforming was ok except for that messed up dash control. also sonic came out in 1991. unless there is older games

well, I must disagree with you on one point. Humans are in the Sonic series all the time due to Eggman/Robotnik and the games take place on the planet earth so humans are going to undoubtably be throughout the series.

You are probably going to buy every sonic game regardless of how bad it is. Me on the other hand when Sega cares enough to make a good game I will look into it.

*sigh* honestly did your parents inject you with fail when you were born. I just explained to you I like games after sonic adventure 2. I gave sonic unleashed a chance as I played through the whole game. From start to finish. Thats a huge chance. I will admit sega almost had a good game till the threw in that retarded gimmick.

Kid listen to me as you lack the skills to comprehend what im trying to say to you. I'll put it simple. Im not an old school only fan. Granted the old school are better than the new school. But I do like some of the new school games. I even liked the first sonic riders. I was a bad game but I liked it.
You cant just go around calling people "old school fuck tards" just because they dont like the newest sonic games. Maybe they dont like them because they were poorly made?

People are entitled to there opinions. A real fan of anything would whenever something of the series that liked was bad or they disliked they would say something about like im doing right now. sega does care about money, but cmon! sonic is sega's mascot. Sonic is what represents sega, you can't expect them to give up on sonic. what I've noticed when I've played all the sonic games. (aside from the wii games) they have a fair amount of personality and details that rarely is seen in any new game. (the posters in escape from the city) have you checked out all the eastereggs in unleashed?! it's crazy. I do believe sonic means a lot to sega, but of course they care about money

to me playing from 1989.. (not that it really matters). Sonic isn't all about speed, but solid platforming. the classic 2d sonic games represented that. this is why I respect the werehog levels. yeah..I didn't favour the combat system, but I loved the platforming parts with the werehog. I believe they got that from ristar.
anyways, I don't have anything against sonic's new speed levels at all almost, except that there must be a strict limit to the amount of those types of levels in one game

well he is sega's mascot but if you think about it. Do you think sega puts as much effort into sonic games as their other franchises? well from the looks if it. it really doesnt look that way. A mascot should be given top notch service when their games are getting made. every year a new sonic game get's made which is not good. A good game takes time to make. I really think sonic's games would improve 10 fold if sega just slowed down on pushing them out like octomom.

true Sonic unleashed was a step in the right direction. Just what killed for me was the werehog. I would love to try the day stages for 360/ps3 they look amazing. thanks for not being an asshole like the other people flaming me for not liking the game.
some of the bugs were the dash command, camera angles for platforming, lack of lives, some times the control was a lil unresponsive.

if they took time to beta test and work out the bugs that plague the series. Like sonic unleashed for example. I mean I didnt like it but you can tell they took their time with that one. They really almost had a perfect game till they threw in the gimmick. I'm fully aware sonic isnt only about speed but also platforming. The genesis titles taught me that well as a kid. The werehog platforming was ok except for that messed up dash control. also sonic came out in 1991. unless there is older games

yes the dash controller on the wii was horrible. to be honest, the wiiversion was really lackluster. heck it was missing two sonic levels, plus..the levels were shorter...the sonic levels that is.

I guess I started playing games in 1995 or so, but that doesn't really matter.
but have you tried the 360/ps3 version?, the dash gimmick isn't there... anyway..what bugs tormented you in unleash?

I would give Sonic Unleashed a 90/100 because SEGA did not give the Werehog more moves, speed, and more ways to do stuff.

plus it could not be a game like sonic unleashed, there is another mari and sonic at teh olimpic (sorry i fi spelled that wrong) games and that had a lot of characers maybe they mean it like that. From what i heard they want to bring him back, but they did not say what kind of game, because there are a lot of non sonic games with him in it.

well, I must disagree with you on one point. Humans are in the Sonic series all the time due to Eggman/Robotnik and the games take place on the planet earth so humans are going to undoubtably be throughout the series.

thank you, i thank you for being one of the people who dont listein to reviews. gamespot gave sonic unleashed a 3.5 and i swore at my computer and then went ahead and started playing it. the games really good and gamespot sucks so im done with them.
