Is there a keyboard shortcut for choosing a suggested name or function instead of using the mouse?

I think keyboard navigation is where Excel excels!

@pixelinferno Just use the arrows and then hit tab in excel 07 in excel 03 i think that you use the right arrow after selecting the suggested function with up and down
