A taste of home...but really...it is a great effort by this distillery. Not extremely popular here yet (I'm from NS too). But with time and a few more years...Nice review...actually nice reviews in general.
Have you tried the 15yr old "Battle of the Glen" edition? I got some for my father for his birthday. I liked it alot more then the 10. Much smoother, nowhere near as harsh. Very good, but very expensive. Oh well, Im from NS so supporting the locals makes it hurt less.
Ralfy what do you think about the Japanese single malts,ive tried a few an although they have a certain taste to them i thought the quality was there.tc malt machine.
@ralfystuff Yeh id agree the Japanese are trying to produce a product for the future that takes in current trends etc.Ive tried Hokushu and would agree its a fine malt and full of surprises like a few other Santori products.Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I've lived in Canada for the past 25 years, but never had this. It is not tempting at $90!!! I don't see how it could be better than similarly priced, premium 18 year old scotch whiskies. We cannot even get a break on canadian whisky in this country :( Canadian beer is also at least as expensive as imports, go figure. It's actually quite good, but I only buy it when I feel particularly patriotic and willing to spend more just to buy local (usually around Canada day, lol).
Will Nova Scotia is New Scotland so you know it will be good whisky so i am glade to be a half scot half german in NEW SCOTLAND and able to get good whisky except for vat 69 a hard to find whisky in Nova Scotia
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Glen Breton Distillery near Inverness NS this summer and it was beautiful to say the least. We took the tour and tasted the 10, but I bought a 15 called The Glen Breton Ice and it's even better. Glad you liked it!!

@Rogn80
have not tried this one, but I expect small Distillery whiskies to get better with time (and experience)

@ZEDZOR2 Japanese whisky standards vary, for good ones try Yoichi and Hackushu.
Scotch is generally more dimentional and less concocted

There's a Glen Breton 15 yo that was just released! Won't be trying it though. it's quite expensive. I guess i'll save up for the 10yo.

I was in Canada last year and I couldn't find any of that! One shop owner had hardly even heard of the distillery.
