This is a crap review. The X3 performance is fantastic.

The ride is incredible for an SUV...smooth, powerful and the handling...well...it goes exactly where you point it. I could drive it all day. In fact my wife likes to go out and just drive...it's that enjoyable.

I've tried the Volvo XC90 (v8 & v5) and the LR2. The Volvo is higher and bigger...but doesn't feel nearly as stable as the X3.

The LR2 (2009) simply feels like CRAP. Unstable, unsafe...but a nice interior - big deal. X3 rules.
