One of the few problems I have with the Trilogy versions of MP 1 and 2 is that the title intros are not in it. They just buried the music in a bonus menu and left out the awesome animations that went with them.
I mean really, the moment I put MP 2 into my Game Cube this epic intro promised me that this game's atmosphere would be everything I was hoping for. You just don't leave that kind of experience out.
I'm never letting my original GC versions escape, intros, "plot holes", and all.
I know that this game isn't as good a shooter like mw3, but this game is awesome in its own way. It's like a first person shooter with puzzles and a ton of adventure. It is original. The theme is just amazing. Waaaaayyyy more badass the modern warfare theme. I also like the fact that this game has epic boss battles, unlike call of duty. I mean, compared to prime, there's some kind of logic when you lose your stuff and acquire new one (overburst explosion in 1, Ing stealing in 2, Phazon corruption in 3) ; in OM, otherwise, it's like she's become some kind of masoshist (i understand for the power-bomb limitation. But taking useless heat-lava damage while waiting for Adam's approval to activate Varia suit ? If it isn't dumb, i don't know what it is. -_- )
I get chills from 1:16 and on. It was easily the most difficult game i had ever played back when it first came out, amorbis felt impossible with the limited light ammo and your health slowly draining away, but that finishing shot felt satisfying.
ok this is kinda long but i feel like saying it about this. i remember when i was at my grandpas house and we went to a walmart and we he bought this game with a game guide. i asked him why he bought it and he said it was a shooter. he never played it so i popped it in. being my first ever shooter, i had no idea how to control anything... everytime i would get stuck id either look at the game guide or go to the title to listen to this song... this is a true highlight of my bright childhood

The Japanese title is: Metroid Prime 2: Dark Echoes. Which IMO makes more sense. I wondered the same thing you did till I saw the Japanese title.
Metroid Prime Trilogy, man. Nintendo needs to re-release it and brag about it. All while holding Retro up at Rare's face and saying "LOOK WHAT YOU SHOULD-A-COULD-A HAVE BEEN. LOOK AT IT." Such a fantastic and severely underrated powerhouse of a series. And the music, my god the music.
@lastmesren well they did do one. For Wii. Special edition metal case. It's rare and goes for about 120 online... Up in value from its original 80 dollar price tag. It's a masterpiece... And It's on my shelf next to the original 3.
@moldyskittle Yeah, I have the trilogy case. Got it for 15$ from a closing Blockbuster, which was probably one of the greatest deals I've ever had in getting a game. I suppose to clarify, the Trilogy had a very limited release, and little to no attention/commercials, just like Corruption (that Wii-Would-Like-To-Play-LOL commercial doesn't count).
I wish these games were multi-platform; we own a Wii but I'm not really a fan, which is why I still haven't picked up Corruption. One and two were awesome and among some of the best games I've played so far. I'd love to play these games in full HD.
I like this music. Even though its a dark game and this music captures that dark feeling well, i kinda think the bleeps are really cute and give it an upbeat feeling. Like theres a little bit of cheer and hope afterall.

@WatashiWaDarkentine Just get your hands on a wii/gamecube, a controller, and a copy of this or the first metroid prime and you'll be able to experience it in all of its glory. Nothing matches the sense of immersion in these games, the music is awesome, the boss fights are memorable; they are truly some of the best games of all time.

@lostshadows22 I think you might of read what I said out of context. I was replying to somebody asking if Nintendo planned for another Metroid, not one in the Prime series. I was suggesting the next Metroid title will be on the Wii U or handheld using 3D of the 3DS. Time line wise I would like to see a game after Metroid:Fusion unless thats WAY in the future compared to the end of Other M which is before it chronologically.
@lostshadows22 Indeed it was. Chronological order is Metroid, Prime series or Return of Samus (don't which one is first), Super, Other M, Fusion. They can't really do a game before the first game because thats pretty early on in her career. So it has to slot between that and upto or after Fusion. Fusion left some interesting plot devices that could be used for before it (Other M) so that leaves after that something that they could go with. Thats just my take on where they could take Metroid.

I've had this game for years (first got it on Christmas of its release year), and it's been doing this since Day 1. And, to this day, I have no idea why this happens with this game, and this game alone.
I'm thinking that getting a Wii and playing it on that system would hopefully help, in case my particular console is to blame. Two other games would also freeze in the same spot each time I played them on my system. Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike.
@metroidprimefan18 is this game just for the gamecube? i've been looking at loads of the great old games of the N64. this one looks pretty good. for some reason consoles freeze certain discs. happened to my ps2 it always played some games such as Jak and Daxter fine, but hardly ever played Motorsiege. It would never read the disc even though motorsiege was in very good condition. i eventually cleaned out the ps2 which hadn't been opened up for years and all discs played without any more problems
@metroidprimefan18 motorsiege was a more complex game than the others. thats probably why it wouldn't read. id suggest cleaning out the GameCube if your disc is clean. hope this helps.
Okay, I really need an answer to this problem if possible.
Every single time I try to play this game (on the Gamecube), after about 20-30 minutes of play, the game crashes and the Gamecube resets itself. The disc has no debris/scratches on it, and this problem does not happen with ANY of my other games (not even Metroid Prime 1).
Ideas, anyone? I really want to play this game again and actually be able to enjoy it, without this crap happening; it's so annoying =(
Metroid Other M gets so much hate on undeserved hate and I personaly think its disgusting, sure Samus Aran wasn't a perfect warror in it but she still kicked a@# just as much as she does in this and every other Metroid game and I enjoyed Metroid Other M just as much as this game Prime 3 and Metroid Prime Hunters. When is this Other M hate going to stop I played the game myself and its nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be.

After I had completed the first prime game I was so crazily hyped when they announced this game. And I swear, as I finaly got my hands on it and put into my gamecube I exploded. I have never as much chills as I got at that moment, with this music it truly said.
i dont think that people should complain about other m's storyline, it waas well voice acted, the scenes were amazing, and lets see you go through what samus had to go through to defeat mother brain in super metroid and not have some emotional trauma, i think putting a character behind samus was a bold move, but still very entertaining and thrilling and adding a well-written, almost movie like storyline to the series

Matroid 2 = so awesome it had to reform it's own name because it couldn't contain itself, taking the e and the s with it.
Super metroid had to be omitted entirely due to the possibility of awesome-induced stroke.
MP1, MP2 and MP3 = Awesome enough to start using the common numerals we use today, however they imploded upon themselves and only retain the initials.
Metroid: Other M = Not nearly as awesome, therefore can spelled correctly.
I liked this series (prime). I really did played all three and enjoyed every minute. but it is not what I want from a metroid game. I really wished they would make a another side scrolling platform game continuing from fusion
haha, im currently playing this game again for 6th time. not in a row! i had this game with my gamecube back in 03' along with other great nintendo title which i will be getting back in time. i really love the prime series and considering downloading the original side scrollers on my wii.
when i 1st played Metroid Prime 2 it took me 20 minutes to start the game because, 1 i kept resetting to c the animation they did with the words changing into the title (3 min) and 2 this song grabbed me (17 min)
Metroid Prime 2 Echoes whilst led recovering from reconstructive surgery to the anterior cruciate ligament of my right knee. Intense Metroid Prime 2 gaming in between heavy physio sessions = best recovery treatment ever. Trust me ;-)

@lostshadows22 I think you might of read what I said out of context. I was replying to somebody asking if Nintendo planned for another Metroid, not one in the Prime series. I was suggesting the next Metroid title will be on the Wii U or handheld using 3D of the 3DS. Time line wise I would like to see a game after Metroid:Fusion unless thats WAY in the future compared to the end of Other M which is before it chronologically.

@lostshadows22 Indeed it was. Chronological order is Metroid, Prime series or Return of Samus (don't which one is first), Super, Other M, Fusion. They can't really do a game before the first game because thats pretty early on in her career. So it has to slot between that and upto or after Fusion. Fusion left some interesting plot devices that could be used for before it (Other M) so that leaves after that something that they could go with. Thats just my take on where they could take Metroid.

To me, and everyone else in this video, we probably played a bunch of games more better than MW3. Lastly, this theme kicks ass, and (out of topic here) I liked Other M. :)

I've had this game for years (first got it on Christmas of its release year), and it's been doing this since Day 1. And, to this day, I have no idea why this happens with this game, and this game alone.
I'm thinking that getting a Wii and playing it on that system would hopefully help, in case my particular console is to blame. Two other games would also freeze in the same spot each time I played them on my system. Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike.
So, would my console be to blame, in this case?

@metroidprimefan18 is this game just for the gamecube? i've been looking at loads of the great old games of the N64. this one looks pretty good. for some reason consoles freeze certain discs. happened to my ps2 it always played some games such as Jak and Daxter fine, but hardly ever played Motorsiege. It would never read the disc even though motorsiege was in very good condition. i eventually cleaned out the ps2 which hadn't been opened up for years and all discs played without any more problems

@metroidprimefan18 motorsiege was a more complex game than the others. thats probably why it wouldn't read. id suggest cleaning out the GameCube if your disc is clean. hope this helps.

Okay, I really need an answer to this problem if possible.
Every single time I try to play this game (on the Gamecube), after about 20-30 minutes of play, the game crashes and the Gamecube resets itself. The disc has no debris/scratches on it, and this problem does not happen with ANY of my other games (not even Metroid Prime 1).
Ideas, anyone? I really want to play this game again and actually be able to enjoy it, without this crap happening; it's so annoying =(

Metroid Other M gets so much hate on undeserved hate and I personaly think its disgusting, sure Samus Aran wasn't a perfect warror in it but she still kicked a@# just as much as she does in this and every other Metroid game and I enjoyed Metroid Other M just as much as this game Prime 3 and Metroid Prime Hunters. When is this Other M hate going to stop I played the game myself and its nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be.

After I had completed the first prime game I was so crazily hyped when they announced this game. And I swear, as I finaly got my hands on it and put into my gamecube I exploded. I have never as much chills as I got at that moment, with this music it truly said.

Metroid: bad( even though groundbreaking, it didn't age that well)
Metroid 2: okay( it had the most anticlimatic final boss and ending ever)
Super Metroid: on a 1 to 10 this game gets an OVER 9000!!!!!
Metroid Fusion: awesome( but difficult and scary)

Zm: gr8est remake ever!!!( the shinespark puzzles, although not mandatory, was a pain in the ass)
mp2: great( but doesn't have a natural feel like in mp1)

i dont think that people should complain about other m's storyline, it waas well voice acted, the scenes were amazing, and lets see you go through what samus had to go through to defeat mother brain in super metroid and not have some emotional trauma, i think putting a character behind samus was a bold move, but still very entertaining and thrilling and adding a well-written, almost movie like storyline to the series

metriod other m was awsome, nice unique gameplay, metroid prime 3 was screwed up, no charge combos, and your practicly throwing the controller at the tv just to turn a stupid switch that just opens a stupid door, and serisly, just one beam? no beam changeing anymore, just one. metroid prime 2 was by far the best of the trilogy.

Metroid = so awesome it blew up the e.
Matroid 2 = so awesome it had to reform it's own name because it couldn't contain itself, taking the e and the s with it.
Super metroid had to be omitted entirely due to the possibility of awesome-induced stroke.
MP1, MP2 and MP3 = Awesome enough to start using the common numerals we use today, however they imploded upon themselves and only retain the initials.
Metroid: Other M = Not nearly as awesome, therefore can spelled correctly.

haha, im currently playing this game again for 6th time. not in a row! i had this game with my gamecube back in 03' along with other great nintendo title which i will be getting back in time. i really love the prime series and considering downloading the original side scrollers on my wii.
oh and the soundtrack in this game is...AMAZING.

when i 1st played Metroid Prime 2 it took me 20 minutes to start the game because, 1 i kept resetting to c the animation they did with the words changing into the title (3 min) and 2 this song grabbed me (17 min)

Metroid Prime 2 Echoes whilst led recovering from reconstructive surgery to the anterior cruciate ligament of my right knee. Intense Metroid Prime 2 gaming in between heavy physio sessions = best recovery treatment ever. Trust me ;-)

I played the metroid series when it first started out as a side scroller. And from then on I knew that it wouldn't be on other consoles, I just thought it would be cool is all.
