@FCValle Hollow-point bullets can still be bought legally,but they are restricted to only being used for hunting& pest control applications,as a person has to specify this,on their firearms certificate.The only time HP bullets can be used on a range,is only for range zeoring& some gun clubs have a separate range for this.Pistols are restricted to this category too&the same rule applies to them,as both hanguns and hollow-points have been categorised as Section 5.All done to please the GCN knobs.

@MarineAqua45 jesus christ, why all the regulations on hollowpoints? all they do is destabalize the target by stransfering more of the muzzle energy in to it. they dont pierce bullet proof vests, they dont explode inside people causing more damage, they arent anything to be afraid of. hollywood is really to blame for the misconceptions about hollow points though.

@Ronald3570 its a long and annoyingly hard story to understand.Basically after the Dunblane massacre,there was a couple of enquiries into it&they decided to ban handguns(Modern handguns 1920&after:-)& as well as expanding ammunition,because alot of the 9mm&.357 rounds used to shoot the kids dead at Dunblane were expanding ammo.As far as the then government was concerned only solid rounds,like wadcutters,boat-tails&FMJs are to be used for targets.Epanding ammo was considered unnessecary.

Guns can still be aquired illegally in the UK, just like everywhere else in the world. criminals can always get their hands on a gun and usually they dont do it legally. i feel you should have to prove you're a resposible citisen, but once you do you should be capable of defending yourself and others when the police arent fast enough to save you.

please use the iron sights with a lever action my friend. you might as well set it on fire and piss on it. at least paint the scope black or something it is killin the beauty of that marlin. i know it is "quick target aquisition" but if you cant shoot a 5" group at 50 yrds or less quickly you should sell it or give it away. Not being a dick but electronics fail and iron sight practice will make you feel the rifle better. I can stomach a scope on a 30/30 lever gun but not the 44

In my experiances a good 2-7x is TITS for 200 and less. 44 aint goin much farther than that. practice shooting without aimin eventually u can hit shit without sights. I can shoot my mkIII at 25 yrds and make cans dance without aiming but i have alot of practice at it. I think 13 years of bird hunting helped with the quickshot. good luck.
