I agree I have hauled my own equipment for short distances with no chains or binders on slow roads or off road when safe. It saves much time and labor when can be done. But to travel 10 20 or more miles without strapping down and at highway speeds is a stretch. I myself hauled many a load down highway 1 with no no chains on a lowboy to get the machine there. So I know both sides of the story.
Why the tinted glass with the part left untinted on the front window. Surley it effects sight, once had it on a car and it was ok but still effects visability and as dusk comes its terrible.................
You would be surprised what you can get away with in south and northeast Asia. I have seen loads on lowboys not chained down with the operator riding in the excavator cab. This was back in the 1970s but I don't think it has changed much.

Chain it down. You should at least have some support to keep it from rocking back and fourth.
