If your use is target shooting then I would reccomend a Remington Pump action .22 rifle in the lower price range or an AR-15 (made by Bushmaster, Colt or Rock River Arms) in the higher price range. Since you are new to guns the AR-15 might take some tome to learn how to clean because it requires a dissasembly opposed to a simple pump action .22. @83assasin that really depends on the type of weapon (handgun or rifle), as well as local, state laws that would apply to where you live. I'm in NY state and if you have no felony CONVICTIONS you're good to go for a long gun. Handguns require a pistol permit(P.I.T.A). Curio and relic guns can be shipped to home address without ffl.
