This industry is just a better built cell block a long ways from the shell tops and the bells that L rocked....Hip hop went from selling crack to smoking it... Yep Mos just described what most people think of rap music today.. in 98. 12 years ago.
This is seriously a good album. I wish it only came out a bit later in this muck of hip hop. True lyrics should be broadcasting instead of lame stuff they qualify as pop hip hop.
Illuminati=ET kin aka gods, Ea, Sirians, YHWH, Satan, Pepsi, angels/demons, dragons, jinn, naga, hulu, vampires, bluebloods, Al Gore, Windsors, Rothschilds, Rockefellars etc who rule cults like Freemasonry. Is a great track this, never gets old. Don't suppose anyone knows the dnb track that samples the beginning - "Speech is my hammer bang the world into shape, let it fall" ?
freeway beans anyone he said he will eat them alive he's putting ten mill on it check out angie martinez interview black thought jay electronica nas is on his team he want jay to pick his five
"Hip Hop" is probably my 3rd favorite track on the album. The beat is powerful but laid back at the same time. Mos Def is most definitely one of the best in the game.
Mos Def is one of the greatest hip hop artists' out in our generation, I just wish he would get the recognition he truly deserves, this is my favorite song by Mos btw 8-)
"Speech is my hammer bang the world in the shape now let it fall"
it pisses me off how artists like Soulja Toy can get 1 million hits in like 1 day... but True Hip-Hop artists like Mos Def barely even come close to that... Its BLASPHEMY... Bring back True Hip hop... im tired of this rap crap.. This shit is RAW as HELL.
there are alot of people like him who arent recognized for their talents and are overshadowed by mainstream artists (lil wayne) who claim to be "the best". lol.
I was just watching a vid of Talib talking about under estimated emmce like Jean Grea, Mos Def, Andre 3000....etc.The average person like to spoon feed what they should like not what really feels good to them.
If its popular then they want to buy it, plus ppl like catching stuff, intense lyrics make ppl have to think, whatever. Thats why i know Hip hop is not dead cuz there r ppl that still talk about the real shit. From Artist to Audience, I used to play this every morning on repeat b4work

It's Arabic. From the Qu'ran. "Bismillah ir-rahman ir-rahim." Meaning "In the name of God, most gracious, most compassionate."
