  • As an American, I say: My ancestors didn't watch their friends die in the mud during the revolution so that Americans could swoon over the royal wedding.

Constitutionally speaking, I'm a republican, and so are all americans. If we had to deal with what you folks have to deal with, we'd be blowing things up.

  • its all about power

  • I believe the Monarch is an asset to this country. She is the only person who has the right to refuse the release of the armed forces to the government. In theory anyway! Unlike the American President who can use his power to over rule the senate. The monarchy gives a sense of stability and adds to power sharing unlike. She also carries the ability to close parliment if need be.

  • wozzawarhead - But as the Queen has no democratic legitimacy, she hasn't performed the essential head of state functions to limit the government.

Having the power in theory but never using it for good is pathetic. It is like a fire engine that never leaves the fire station while the town burns.

Thatcher, Major, Blair and Brown should have been dismissed but only an elected president could have done that.

Instead, the do-nothing monarchy surrenders supreme power to the PM.

  • @ProAmericanBriton I take it you would prefere a republic. Then you have to say what kind of republic, the german republic has a president with no power, and really no legitimacy because he or she is not elected by the people. Or, do you want and american type republic, with an all powerful president, possibly named CAMERON

  • @altersachse I want an all-powerful president, possibly named PETER DOW (my name)!

I plan to add republics to my presidency. Now I'm president of only the For Freedom Forums (not really a republic, just an internet political discussion forum - please register with FIGH. TK)

Perhaps next I'll be elected first President of the Scottish republic, then maybe one day President of the British republic?

I'll never agree to a president like Cameron who has allowed the Queen's tyranny over me.

  • @wozzawarhead:

thats th eother side of it, isnt it ?

Whilst i hate royalists (the majority of them), because of th ecourts, police etc., and their vile behaviour towards the working class.... when yu take it to a higher level, she is hte thing which stops it all going mental.

There are so many groups who would fight for power, if she weren't there, that it would be like mad max town.

BUT, royalist behaviour in england, let alone elshwere, that the people are stewing with anger.

    PM apology after Turing petition

    Link in (more info)

"Gordon Brown has said he is sorry for the "appalling" way World War II code-breaker Alan Turing was treated for being gay.

A petition on the No 10 website had called for a posthumous government apology to the computer pioneer. "

  • That is so true. The America we once knew and stood for is gone. It is now all about money and power. Our amendment rights are no longer our own. Politicians look out only for themselves, and will turn on a dime for the right price. It's like; Eat shit and smile about it. :)

  • I'm with you but don't count on anyone in the U.S. Gov. we the PEOPLE lost our Republic long ago. We are now ruled by an elite class that make or break laws to suit there own needs.

  • im all for republics, but i think an English republic would get more and more right wing (wich im for) and a scottish rep would go more and more left wing, wich would be a pain in the arse for any decent scot whd prob have to come live down here. What u lot reckon?

  • Also, consider that we have a current president who actually BOWED to the Saudi king!! Now that is disgraceful. If he bows to that Saudi scum, you can bet he'll be kissing the Windsor familly's asses for the next 4 or 8 years.

  • 4lfclover66 - I'm glad you mentioned "kissing ass" because I wanted to expand on what I said in the video "we love you very much, more than you know".

"The Fall of Rome: Our saviour Condoleezza Rice vs. The Pope" watch?v=ZX0PD8PmvXs

That's a LOT of love. lol

    - SuperCondi a.k.a. ProAmericanBriton

  • Yes I am ScottishStandard too.

Check out this SuperCondi channel for the ass-kissing video.

  • I have English relatives that are very proud of their royalty and suggest that we Americans are actually jealous that we don't have that. We can't and shouldn't help get rid of it because that would be interfering and we need to do less of that... not more. But there is one myth that needs debunking and that is that your monarchy helps with tourism. LMAO! Who goes to the U.K. to see the queen? I have actually seen her and it's not even on my top 20 list of great things I've seen/done in the UK.

  • A4lfclover66 - Your English relatives have been brainwashed by state-controlled broadcasting.

    Which is why I commented

"Another key task is for the US and republicans to take over or blow up monarchist controlled TV satellites.

We need the BBC output controlled or censored by republicans for a start."

Inviting the Queen or any Windsor royal to the White House IS "interfering" but in the wrong, unhelpful way.

"Interference" happens as the US & allies are increasingly one polity.

  • Personally I'd rather see our Presidents only meeting with elected leaders and never with monarchs of any variety.

    But that's just me.

I think if there was enough noise about it in the UK you guys could get rid of your monarch. Doubt very much people would miss the Tudor's (or whatever they're called) except for the gossip bullshit they provide.

South Korea certainly hasn't missed their royal family.

  • anon2999 - Fair comment and I appreciate your sympathy for us Britons as we are betrayed by US presidents inviting a head of state we didn't elect (but rules us anyway) to the White House.

  • Thanks, monarchy's are an anachronism and I really see no need for them in this day and age... guess it's mainly because I'm an American.

It's a shame they only tend to be got rid of during times of great upheaval and SOMETIMES they are replaced by something much worse so I guess many people tend to cling to them at all costs.

Was dating a Korean girl for a while and she couldn't give two shits about the former Korean "Royals" and that family had ruled Korea for something like 600+ years.

  • What the hell are you on? They are part of NATO. You should start with EU and other NATO countries first. What would the US do? Tell them to stop being a monarchy?

  • jxsilicon9 - Precisely, and since NATO principles are all about democracy and the rule of law, principles violated by kingdoms such as the UK on a daily basis they should start living up to their NATO obligations but since they are royalist fascists in practice that means that the kings and queens should go into exile and their monarchist ministers should sit in the corner and shut the fuck up while republicans establish democratic republics which would sign up to and DELIVER NATO principles.

  • jxsilicon9 - In practice the US could start by banning kings and queens from the USA.

Bush invited both Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth to the White House which was 100% the wrong thing to do.

Then help fund, train and set up republican armies & assassinate monarchs who don't go into exile when asked.

Another key task is for the US and republicans to take over or blow up monarchist controlled TV satellites.

We need the BBC output controlled or censored by republicans for a start.

  • Why do we have to do it? If the majority of your country doesn't agree with you then start a grassroots campaign. UK is seen as democratic by US and most of the world. US isn't going to do this stuff against an ally. Especially since they seem to be the only ones that support our current wars the most.

  • jxsilicon9 - Why do Americans have to fight the proxies for the Arab royals, Al Qaeda? Because they are fighting you!

So American republicans need to get wise to being backstabbed by Arab and other monarchies across the world.

When the majority of Germans didn't (or dared not) agree with those whom the Nazis had put into concentration camps, the prisoners should have started up a grassroots campaign, eh?

It is impossible to campaign effectively when you are under the gun.

    - Peter Dow

  • jxsilicon9 - You are conflating your loyal allies, the British nation (and the British home nations - the English, Scots, Welsh and Irish) with the UK state whose monarch is a liability.

See BritishRepublican videos "The UK's Nazi King Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor: Traitor & Enemy of Britain." watch?v=--goH-lhRNY

We your allies work our fingers to the bone trying be a reliable ally but fighting for freedom and democracy in a kingdom is like pushing a huge stone uphill - very dangerous!

  • We have our own problems in the US. Its getting harder and harder to tell the difference between the corporation and the government. We have everything the founding fathers didn't want.We aren't going to do anything against allies. We have been allies with Iraq,Iran, etc.Unless they turn against us then you're on your own.

  • jxsilicon9 - I am trying to explain to you EXACTLY who it is who is your ally - people like me.

I have asked to watch a video playlist. You haven't yet I suspect.

I would like to ask you to view a web page the link for it is in this video's (more info) details.

Americans really need to read this webpage in particular -

"Attention Americans! Who are your true friends? Not the Windsors!"

I am asking to understand me. Right now, you are FAILING to understand me. Please TRY!

  • jxsilicon9 - Sorry I meant to type - I am asking YOU to watch a video playlist.

    &

I am asking YOU to understand me.

    PLEASE TRY! PLEASE TRY!

  • Haha the U.S.A will be glad to help just as soon as we get our shit together. You see my friend, here in the America We like to "Talk" as if we know whats best to help others with thier issues but the fact is...TALK is all America is good for anymore. I love what my country used to be and am very saddened by what its become. Try China since they own most of the Good ol U.S.A anyway.

  • It is refreshing to see someone who is so real and motivated by what is good and important to him. I am not siding with anyone, but I do want to say thank you and that I am impressed. I usually do not comment because it seems as though 90% of the people that post are immature fools who talk tough while hiding behind the anonymity of the internet. At times I lose faith in humanity because of most of the comments. Thank you.

  • its good to see such passionate people expressing themselves so aptly. i hate the american system and only 3 times in my life have they gotten it right1) jfk 2)jimmy carter 3)bill clinton 4) barak obama. i'll bet you my favorite guitar that things will finally change for the better. its been a vacuum since the end of WWII.1960-70 was a good time of change but folk got scared and started going conservative again.i left the states in 2001 to live in the uk. i will not return to the states.

  • Cush works for the Queen, man. He does what he's told.

  • Oh, might I add you're useing a royalist banner in the backround. If you're for a republic, you should probably be useing a different flag than those used by Stuarts and commonly associated with Scottish monarchy.

  • PurePerfection - Well I will forgive your ignorance of the Scottish republican claim to the Lion Rampant flag (which pre-dates the Stuart Kings), its alias "the Scottish National Standard", because Wikipedia are refusing to acknowledge the claim and simply delete any reference to it.

You can read my statement of the claim which is on my Scottish National Standard Bearer website - page "The functions and duties of a Scottish National Standard Bearer"

See (more info) for a link.

  • I am open to all sorts of things so I will do that, but even if that is the case, much of how you convince people to join a movement is aesthetics, and most people believe that it's a monarchist flag. How many people do you want to explain to that you're not advocating a Scottish monarchy?

  • You do realise that a Scottish royal family founded Great Britain? That the Scottish themselves then played a major part (more than the English!) in its dominance, not just foundation? I don't understand why you're so against the UK if it's actually a Scottish device, just ruled from London.

  • PurePerfection - Try to appreciate that the House of Stuart, imposing monarchy on Scotland and Great Britain, long past the historical sell-by date of that form of government was ANTI-Scottish.

There comes a time in the history of every nation (for the Scots, 1320, the Declaration of Arbroath) when the patriotic thing to do is to move towards a democratic republic, away from monarchy - anything less revolutionary is at best a surrender and a sell out of the nation, at worst treason.

  • I disagree. The only time there was a true republic in name in Britain it was a disaster. Regardless if you'd call the protectorate a true Republic or not, it was, by all means, a Republic. The monarchy lets you keep your right to broadcast your message, and while you may find there are those who disagree, I don't see royalists ripping down your videos. I am first and foremost a French monarchist, and I know full well that France was forced into a republic by an urban rich elite, not the people.

  • Why didn't Sean answer MY video question?

I submitted this video question on 23 October 2008, it was the second to be submitted, yet my video did not feature in Sean's Briefing 2.0 (10/31/2008): Answers.

Why not and will he answer it next time?

My video question to Sean was quoted in the Washington Post, in the column by Al Kamen.

    "What's the Opposite of 'Mainstream'?"

Friday, October 31, 2008; Page A17 - linked to from this video's (more info) details.

  • YEAH!!! I'm in. Show me where to sign up. The US should free the Brits from the monarchy just like we freed Europe from the Nazis!

  • csasba - LOL That's what I like to read! Best comment I have read for ages!

You can sign up by registering on the For Freedom Forums, Forums for robust political debate. Inspired by Scots, open to all. There is a link in this video's (more info) details.

I administer the F-F-Forums which have a Braveheart theme but if you sign up for them it is more a question of getting to kill monarchists than getting "to kill the English".

    High-ranking Bravehearts are for-Freedom NOT anti-English.

  • Revolution is real the only way to become Independent.

  • ProAmericanBriton, Thanks for your kind words and your support. However, I am in terror that America is about to make a terrible mistake in electing our next president. If we turn sharply left, as all the media assures the world we will, we may be coming to you for help, or at least advice on how to live in a socialist hellhole. Wish us well, as we do you. Cheers!

  • Sandmaven - Well it is Bin Laden who is trying to terrorise Americans and I think you need to hear the words of Colin Powell who fought the real terrorists and who supports Obama. (I am for Condi Rice 4 Prez.)

The more socialist policies over here - universal health care, more generous welfare entitlements, are IMO better than the US policies.

The hellholes over here are caused by anti-socialist monarchy, royalist officers of the state imposing fascist injustice and no elected presidents.

  • Did you just say you're a terrorist?

  • csasba - Who are you addressing that question to? Quite frankly it reads like a very stupid question because NO-ONE here has just said that they are a terrorist!

Your question is as dumb as your above comment "YEAH!!! I'm in. Show me where to sign up. The US should free the Brits from the monarchy just like we freed Europe from the Nazis!" is smart.

So are you still not sure what you think then? Are you trying out alternative perspectives for size? Are you serious, or not?

  • Sandmaven said, "I am in terror" and I was trying to be funny by asking him, "Did you just say you're a terrorist?" I apologize for any time spent pondering this lame joke.

My comments are dumb and meant to be for the sake of laughter. I'm rarely serious. I believe the crown would rather see the whole world catch on fire and burn before giving up power. Eh, but what do I know. Socrates said, "True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing."
