i dont see why not, alot of new computers feature lock on hud's built into the helmet, so missle locks are achievable from any angle. the only trouble would be weight and the vaunability of the computer systems to fire or emp

It looks this way because this is the armor Tony Stark jury-rigs from spare parts to keep his injured heart beating and to escape captivity. The first suit of armor he'd ever worn in the comics looked very much like this.

I don't think Iron Man ever had black armor, unless you count War Machine. Anyone who hates War Machine should be kicked in the throat though! Also, Iron Man wasn't always red and gold. His original armor looked like a gray piece of ass. Much like the original Daredevil was yellow and black (not red). Sometimes, change is good.
