well another way to perform a drift. turn the wheel push the clutch in rip the e brake just to get the rear sliding. once the car has reached the angle pop the clutch out and gas.
i recommend you do this in a parking lot and have a rear wheel drive car.
Drifting cannot be explained via youtube. But the main thing is POINT AND SHOOT!!You must be working with a motor that has good power to do PROPER-GOOD drifting. With time and patience you might be able to do it..Hope this helps..
You don't know what you are talking about. Proper drifting is not using the e-brake. Accelerating while loosening up the rear end at the same time = proper drift. With power and technique comes great drifting.
oh and give these guys a break it says learnin i see alot of vids sayin drifting but not. they are though~ they're doin Power Over driftin whether they kno it or not, it's the easiest out of all the drift tech.
a lot of understeerin(go in w/decent spd/brake goin in2 turn/dwn shift/turn in2 turn/let off gas/punch it at corner exit&counter steer) and one oversteer(pretty good entrance but too much gas, once ur car is sideways manage ur throttle control)
lolz u guys are funny~u can drift in any car FR's and MR's are ideal drivetrains. 4WD are hard but possible. 4WD cars like GSRs, STI and Skylines need alot of speed and require weight transitioning drift tech. like Feints and Brake driftin(similar to Shift Lock driftin)
plz don't refer to Initial D they give u the basic ideas but don't think u kno nething bout cars and driftin cuz of that. i see too many kids refer to that anime and try to kno alot bout cars
i have a '97 ford thunderbird. 4.6l v8 engine. rwd. possi. cost me $350. it drifts just fine.. better than all these 4 bangers runing on strawberry juice. vrrreeeeemm
lolz he/she didn't say it has LSD's so i don't think so but u don't really need LSD's (highly recom.if u have the money) all u really need for driftin is suspensions and changing/upgrading brake pads and brake fluid. if u have more cash then upgradin cpu/exhaust/seats/steerin/shift knob is a plus
it's a big advantage but u don't need em shoot..i drift my Hyundai Accent lolz jus did a lot of weight transitioning driftin though. i also have a 91 MR2 i had TRD LSD 2.0 but sold em to my cousin's Celica. too many people rely on it. I drift perfectly fine w/out em but hella lot better with em if u kno how to work LSD u can work wonders.
a 97 ford thunderbird BARELY has 200 horsepower and weights almost 2 tons..most drift cars are in the 2500lb range and have 150 horsepower (the non turbo ones)so I dont see what your bragging about lol..
1. FWD's can drift on mountain roads for sure. not flat roads all that easily. Be sure to refer yourselves to Initial D before you start saying you can't drift in a FWD.
2. don't "drift" in the city, you will kill someone.
3. your sliding around, drifting's original intention is to angle your car to be parallel with the exit angle, therefore getting you around the corner faster. This technique is used frequently in rally racing but is useful on road surfaces. This however is not drifing.
actually you can drift FWD. the trick is to do the following:
Get a very high entrance speed, turn in to the corner and don't over steer. once you have got the nose going in, Tap the Brake with your foot, Take the weight off the back wheel, control the slide with the accelerator. FWD are hard to drift because you need a much higher entrance speed to begin with (as you cannot dump the clutch to loose traction) which means if you get it wrong, it Hurts, ALOT
mate ive tried drifting in a fwd is shit dont get anywhere with it best bet is a rwd mate but if ya realy wana keep ya fwd heres a tip put 2 trays infront of the back wheels trive onto them and stop on them lock the e-brake up and then just drive thats the only way 2 get it 2 oversteer coz u need oversteer 2 drift if ya understeer (lose traction with the front tires first) ur end up in a bush lmao been there
LMAO he said u cant drift with a rear wheel drive car ibet he saw tokyo drift n now he thinks he is tha fuckin drift king n his civic lmao n 2 thats not really driftin yall r doin thats popin tha cluth at the end of the turn
Thats not drifting, thats called accelerating fast aroung the corner with a rear wheel drive, any fool can do that. Im glad Ranzel cleared that up for me.
ummm..it is if ur too scared. took me awhile to learn and a good chunk of change. rite now i got the PowerOver and SideE-Brake(kinda sloppy at this one) and Feint drifting down. im tryin to learn ShiftLockin rite now but the sudden gear lockings throws my timin off
its not bad for learning, but you should think about upping the power of those cars, they just don't really have enough power, your doing okay on sliding but drifting is when you get all 4 tires sliding. but for beginners you guys are allright.
putting to much power down, as you approach the drift, put down power, lift your hand brake, then tap your accelerator to hold the drift, practice makes perfect
please tell me you did not just say pulling the e-brake messes up your tires. WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK IT IS DOING TO THEM WHILE YOU DRIFT?! drifting in general tears the shit outta your tires
ha ha ha ha wow ur a spammer arent ya i kno because there was a video of a fat guy and the person said the same thing but she said he was cute but he was FAT
man that seems like fun I wish I had a place to go like that...yeah well I have been trying to learn how to drift and so far my drift kind of resembles that except the fact that I don't slow down and than speed up on the corners..I just simply speed up and when I hit the corner I brake hard and turn downshift and than gun the car..any tips
lol, you guys suk ass. my grandma could get more sideways in a fukin wheelchair. lol. in my big ass stock commodore can do better. these guys must be like 16 or somethin, you can still drift in a toyota like that, it doesn't need that much power coz its got fuck all wieght. just need to use the hand brake and know what your doing
lolz doin an incomplete donut(isn't driftin) and cornin are two different things. there's no skill in doin donuts now if u were drivin and then did a donut around something then u mite have something to brag about cuz u do donuts but i don't see that happenin
is it possible to do that move in *** automatic auto? ** haha thats a dumb question. Drifting is a scary thing but if ur gonna do it then do it, dont piss around. U wont get over the nurves unless u push yourself. i mean the worst thing that could happen there is a power pole. DRIFTING ISNT CHEAP!!!! DONT 4GET THAT
huh? I no guys that can drift perfectly in a £300 rearwheel drive car!! You dont have to have a skyline with 600bhp and 100k spent on the engine to get sideways
yes but harder. since dwn shiftin is outta the pix. ur gonna have to put ur car into a lower gear usin the lower gear shifts in ur Auto. careful cuz that's kinda sorta a shift lock drifting tech. cuz ur lockin ur gears so brace urself for sudden gear locks(don't recom. at entry level) ur best bet is PowerOver and Feints
Like they say you whant to go siways you need the fairlady, Z, or The silvia. For Real Nissan Power and is easy all you do is go like at 30 to 50 depends on the drift and hit the e-brake or press brake and gas at the same time but easier e-brake.
Why is everyone so fixated on the Ebrake GOD DAMN! dude -_-. yea they were using power over to INduce the oversteer. and toyota is the drift place to be
not everyone can go side ways right off the bat their bud, my first time i was scared to death doing it now its almost as natural as going and takeing a piss.
lolz it's kinda hard to explain like this. me and my team actually made a tutorial vid. for mine and a classmate's video editin project but cuz of that the university's police kept a close eye on us rest of the semister lolz
nice video but.... IT DOESNT EVEN HELP ME HOW TO DRIFT! U LUSR! my gulay! it says learning how to drift but wut dus the video show?... DRIFT NOT LERNING HOW TO DRIFT...change name or delete video...

Try to break first(break softly), then apply the E-brake while turning the wheel in the opposite direction.
Then Power=over when you feel the car is going too slow. (apply this when in the apex of the turn....
