I used to love this game as a kid. I passed it with the "nintendo power" magazine, which is what I used when I couldn't pass a game. "flashback" was another one of my all time favorite snes games.

@redxmg333 If you don't know what you're doing and just kinda feel your way through the puzzles it shouldn't take more than an hour. The game has many auto-saves, a novel feature for the time.

@Elmerboy29 That's to disable the alarms/doors. It allows you to make the drop down at 1:30 ish without being instantly shot.

@GreatAmericanHero206 If you can see your alien buddy in the air ducts in the previous room that means he's still alive. In the grate room you have to go all the way to the right wall to trigger him to open the room.

Lester is such a weak guy. He's having such a hard time crawling, running, swimming, and just about anything. If it were not for that gun, he would have been dead long ago.

And what the HELL was with that ending. I saw it a long time ago, but now it just seems really screwed up...Dude never makes it home or something. And his legs're broken.

I always kinda liked the ending... like, being carried by the alien and riding an alien pterodactyl into the sunset. "WE'RE FREE!!!" (Well, there's no Sun, but still)

The music for the ending on the PC version is very interesting; gives the ending a different, almost romantic feel.

Of course, then that blasted sequel ruined everything.

If you mean the 2nd room after landing I'm actually standing far enough to the left that fake lasers coming in from the left are preventing the real lasers from being shot (since only 3 enemy lasers can be on screen at once). If you take any steps further the left fake lasers stop and you can get shot for real from the guys on the right.

why was this game soooo hard. i played prince of persia, so i thought i'd give this a try cause they looked sort of the same, but noooo, this game is INSANELY difficult. (btw, when i play games, i usually know nothing about it except from pictures and what people say about it so i'm pretty foggy on the gameplay itself). god damn, first part itself took 8 deaths cause damn leeches, really stressful game, never beat it, and never want to play it again. but it was a memorable experience :D

You need to break the enemy shield while having one up of your own (otherwise he'll just shoot at you). Then you wait for 2 or 3 bombs to roll through to break the floor on the next screen.
