  • Hey TTC. Thank you SO much for putting me on to this song/vid last year. We'll be using it for our wedding this Friday :)

  • Beutiful

  • @leebedy71 True, Lee. In fact, they could have just recorded a version of this song rather than "Belfast Child" for the Street Fighting Years album. Perhaps. Although, I don't think this would have gone to number one. Far less commercial. Cheers Lee.

  • Thank you toptonychick. I now have goosebumps on my goosebumps!! :)

  • wow!! ...melt.

  • @ADDELHAIZEPETER Yes. Its not a direct copy & the lyrics are totally different too. It also only applies to the first part of "Belfast Child".

  • 16 years ago damn, feels like it happened yesterday

  • @MrDemilord Yes. Time sure does fly by! Thanks.

  • Really nice version...

  • @larsniebuhr There are plenty to choose from (from different artists). This is one of the better versions performed! Cheers!

  • Listen to any song by SM is like making love with his beautiful dreamgirl on the beach of a tropical island: you want to start again and again and again ...

  • @BlueRose26071967 Thats quite poetic......but I see your point! lol! Thanks!

  • SM + Alan Stivell = MUSIC OF QUALITY AND DISTINCTION !

  • @BlueRose26071967 I think this is a great performance. Shame only one glimpse of Charlie is shown! Thanks.

  • Beautiful tune. Weird, this is the second time i came across the year 1909 in a matter of 3 hours. One instrumental ( this upload) and the other a recorded instrument that will lead my resolve in a dispute. Keep up the good work Tony....Cheers !

  • @driller62869 Thanks! That is weird! Things like that happen all too often. Cheers.

  • Ah...now I see where Belfast Child came from, I can't even pretend to like that song. This has more tradition about it, love the harp and bongo's..very nice touch, and of course Jim's vocals are top notch.

Thanks Tony, another lesson for me.

  • @YCSMusic Its an Irish song that was written just over a hundred years ago in 1909. There are now hundreds of versions recorded (I think). In my opinion, this a great performance. I wish they had shown the other band members a little more. Thanks Steve.
