  • Could you tell us how many slips you plant in containers of that size? Did you just plant one per bucket or did you plant a few and pull the smaller ones a month or so later or did you leave multiple plants to grow to term in each pot?

  • @mazerrackham001 I believe I put 3-4 into this large container, these are space saving sweet potatoes..

  • oh yea we got sweet potatoes

  • Cool! I'll try a few 55 gallon plastic drums cut in half this next spring and see what happens. We always get the slips from small tubers we have stored in the fridge over the winter. Around May after sitting in water since March, we cut the sprouts off with a little sweet potato still attached to the slip and plant them......Works every time.

  • put my sweet potato in the soil without putting it in water and stuff would it still grow?

    please reply

  • @Daisypie101 , as just a potato not sure, I usually plants slips which is already started sweet potato plants.. some people place the sweet potato in a jar of water and let it sprout shoots , then root the slips or shoots and then plant .. experiment with it to see what works..

  • What variety of sweet potato do you like to grow?

  • @dianemummvideos Dianne, I like sweet potatoes but I've never tried growing them. I have an average city lot in Texas that I'm growing vegetables in raised beds and containers. I'm trying to make the most of my limited space.

What variety did you grow? It looks like it worked pretty well. (I watched your other video) I'm curious which one would do best in a container . I'd like to try it . Thanks for posting the videos. Troy

  • @thorwaldha . Troy, vardamen is a space saving sweet potato, but I wouldn't be afraid to try beauregard either.. they are both great sweet potatoes.:)
