  • I'm 15 and This is my Favoite Movie.

  • I am 23 and i feel as just misguided and confused about my future as Dustin Hoffman :)

  • this is me on the summer...and then i bang my neighbours wife.

  • Old School : )

  • I like this overdubbed electric version better than the original slower folk version of 64

  • The future is "PLASTICS"

  • this song is about having sex with a goat

  • @ubershredder1989 fukn troll

  • @ubershredder1989 fuck off dumbass piece of shit

  • I close my eyes and imagine open minded people havin profound discussions about life, universe and the all the other stuff, and just shuttin the fuck up when there is nothing to say. Two things were loosing more and more...

  • I saw the Graduate just after I graduated from college in 1972. It scared the crap out of me in that I had my whole future ahead of me , and I had no idea what to do next.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have been 10 times more scared. Thank goodness I am old now.

  • @mickbrian1231 Don't scare me, please...

  • fantastic film and soundtrack!

  • Plastics, Benjamin...Plastics... LOL. Love the movie, saw it first run in1966.

  • This song has been on both The Graduate and The Watchmen.

  • This was me drifting at age 21. Unfortuanately I'm still drifting

  • @Andreas748

    How old are you now?

  • @Andreas748 you are the 99%?

  • which movie?

  • @sateeshkumar16 The graduate :)

  • Beautiful song.

Makes me think of the Watchmen as well.

  • The Graduate owes much of its success to S&G. The sountrack and film go hand in hand. Hoffman is at his best...but it would simply not be the same without S&G.

  • what scene is this?

  • 12 people are sleeping with Mrs. Robeson.

  • @SCMako are you trying to say that's a bad thing?

  • What an epic video!!

  • Is there anyone who doesn't know music? Oh yeah, ask those people who dislike this music!

  • when im having sex with an older woman this song will be on my mind.

  • Love this song! Thought the movie was lacking. First, it came across as a vehicle for Simon & Garfunkel's music and the plot itself a secondary thing. Secondly, Dustin Hoffman's acting often leaves me flat. I don't care that he has a ton of Oscars. I think he is a bland actor-the only two moments I thought otherwise was Tootsie and Wag the Dog. In one, he's in drag and in the other, he rode on De Niro.

  • One of the best movies of that era! and Hofmanns first movie ever

  • 'nieżle się wydziera' ;)

  • @AltairBen acting is awkward on purpose. And the movie is an allegory for the 60s, for the wrestling of ones destiny into ones own hand, away from the old generation. Mrs.Robinson is a victim of the 50s but Ben and Elaine refuse to succumb. It is a movie about a boy who is being suffocated by his life and finds an escape, to brave a new horizon, to try, to hope that maybe, just maybe, a future of your own is better than a future predetermined.

  • @efe122 Best comment ever. I've gone through 7 years of film school, and this is the most accurate, concise explanation of why this film is important.

  • @AltairBen "This was a terrible movie" - lol with respect you do not know what you are talking about. Yes, you have an opinion and i respect that ..... but this is a classic film in terms of dialogue, cinematography, direction and acting.

  • great

  • Timeless feeling...

  • love.

  • This was a book. My grandma had a copy but I think she gave it away.

  • Benjamin needs to suck it up. In 1967 a bachelor of Arts was a ticket to yuppie-dom!

  • @golondrinaChilenaZZ4

tequila cubana mexico patata rio mar! Arriba poncho mierda. sanchez señor franco tortillas burrito.

  • Still in college and wondering what to do...I feel Benjamin's pain.

  • I miss days without the ozone hole.

  • @ManyThingsIDo

the ozone hole is over antartica and has not yet much to do with america.

  • This is film is timeless. It's so beautifully edited. Dustin Hoffman's character still strikes a chord: He wants his future "to be different". Very true!

  • all of what mom n dad wanted us to do,to be...sometimes one can take it a a filthy lie.

times change,as we do,all of us.

    Gemma

  • Exacly ...could mot have said it better myself...

    Gemma

  • i graduated with a five year architectural degree if any one know's about architecture it kicks your ass. after all the presentations the architectural models all the drawings and finally a thesis that took one year to finish i was out. graduated with honors my mom and dad were very proud. after all the parties and accolades i felt lost what the hell to i do now? yeah get a job but i was numb. i know how benjamin felt. one morning i got up went to the airport bought a ticket and left for s.amer.

  • @1762mp :) bravo

  • @1762mp i REALLY hope & pray u didnt come back though - we already got too many deadbeat aimless lsoers around here to deal with already :)

  • @aussienewsviews the movie isnt about fucking your mother in law. He just graduated college and the movie describes him not knowing what to do with his life. I think we've all thought about that at one point

  • A Movie about Fucking your Mother in law, sure depending on what she looks like, we have all thought about at sometime, but hey hands up anyone out there who has thought about making a movie about it.

    Gimme a break please.

  • 10 dislikes??? Why?

  • oh mrs. robinson.. sounds so fucking beautiful

  • brilliant film

  • We watched this for one of my college classes--I can't believe I hadn't seen it before! Such an awesome movie, with such amazing music.

  • 8 peoples don't know about plastics.

  • @exampleY14 i really dont know, can u please tell me, i seen the film but still dont get it. lol

  • @TheCoolieyo

I want to say one word to you, just one word. Are you listening? Plastics.

  • XDDDD LA CANCION, ME RECUERDA A MI AMIGA or silenceee ... XD

  • What's cool about the songs from the Graduate's Soundtrack is they are NOT the versions of the songs that were released as singles on the radio. Great movie that was masterfully directed that had some awesome music in it!

  • yeah like he said what assholes hate this, anyway as anyone seen or heard the batcholers version it was number 1 over here in the uk in 1965

  • Why is it that on this beautifully written and emotional song's comment section, the two highest rated comments contain vulgarity and anger?

  • @BarfFromSpaceballs because they refer to the feelings of the character in the film and the related experiences of viewers.

  • First song I played on my walkman the day my dad died of cancer.Love Simon and Garfunkel.

  • I am analyzing this scene for my film essay. The shift from the pool to the hotel room, is that a match or discontinuity editing?

  • @Sisilorulz its intended

  • silence like a cancer grows.

  • I think the first seconds in the pool is a great description of the feeling after you've just lost your virginity.

  • @Olimogtaba what the fuck

  • @Olimogtaba I wouldn't know. I'm coming close to 20 and still a virgin. I'm going to kill myself. I want to get a shotgun and blow my own head off. Or hang myself.

  • @Olimogtaba - don't kill yourself dude its not worth it i came close like four times and I got past it... Older women are great but some still don't know what they are doing. Dude libraries, deli's and especially smaller shopping stores are filled with older single-divor-a women under 40. just gotta look a little harder and be yourself . they can smell a shit break worse than a college ho.

  • @DarkmanDan76 Thanks friend. Appreciate that. Thanks for reaching across the world to help someone you don't even know. I'm doing much better :)

  • @Olimogtaba You're pretty close actually. It was supposed to portray the womb. There are quite a few references to it in this movie. Even though they are really subtle.

  • @Olimogtaba hahaha,why?

  • @Olimogtaba

That's a very mature comment Olimogtaba.

  • I love this movie, Dustin Hoffman is great :D

  • Hello darkness my old friend

  • I love this scene. Just relaxing in the summer sun.

  • GREAT MOVIE!!! DUSTIN HOFFMAN RULES!!! FOREVER

  • my take is differnet. daniel brou is a loser. but mark edmundson is a bigger loser. benj is a bigger loser. I like ben altman and dave gottlieb.

  • i still think daniel brou, benj widiss, ben altman, dave gottlieb are all kind of losers. Sorry that's my take.

  • as far as i know it was recorded by Simon and Garfunkel and big respect to them for that

  • The Move? ... it's Simon and Garfunkel.

  • He looks like Adam Sander at the end, lol

  • @1981z28camaro Except 10x cooler

  • @merton8181 lol yeah

  • GOOD....PERFECTO¡¡¡¡¡¡¡BEIJING------CHINA

  • i used to do my math homework to this song in high school, cry to this song, smile to this song, listen to it while i chatted with my friend on AIM, eat dinner with it on. it was like my song boyfriend...always around, with whom i was in love.

  • btw the music's name is The Sound of Silence...

  • esse filme é muito bala...

  • english lesson - earworm ;D

  • This is me drinking beer and don't know what to do with my $30k degree.

  • @furiousgtz hey:)

"don't feel guilty if you don't know what to do with your life. The most interesting people i know didn't know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds still don't." - baz luhrman

  • @furiousgtz

get in line for your job @ mcdonald's.

that's what you do with your 30k $ degree.

    am i wrong ?

    this is reality.

  • i adore it.

  • he's so cute really

  • To all of you young people - this movie was made decades ago - life today is much faster and more complicated - no pressure - find out what you like and delve into it - do not float around for a summer - you will miss out - Peace....

  • 0:33 looked like he was grabbing his dick.

  • @TofuPenguin1

    to you, maybe! :p

  • OLD SCHOOL This is the best Song for me

  • tis song was in ld Shool .. cool film ;)

  • what was so symbolic about him and the pool? only time he go to be alone?

and this song.. they played this an scarborough fair a lot

  • @kaloo123

He said "I'm just drifting" and that was symbolic, like drifting in the ocean of life with all those new prospects and options waiting for him but he just drifts, he's not making a decision and he's waiting to see where life will take him. That's what I'm getting from it, though I'm no expert :)

  • i went to san diego after i watched the movie, i walked around in the streets with this song on my head the whole summer .

  • Comment removed

  • 2 people did not graduate college

  • the songs from this movie were beautiful and fit perfectly.

I wondered why dustin hoffman was famous and then i watched the graduate

one of the better movies i've seen in my life

  • The Tom Cruise comment is an oopsie went to cancel and it still posted ,bad youtube

  • Personally the movie though not bad doesn't match up with what is one of the greatest songs ever written

  • Frankly the movie was a waste of a song ,like seriously a Tom Cruise movie being equated with one of the greatest songs ever written

  • Comment removed
