This is horrible. I appreciate the love for piano, but John Williams wrote this exclusively for an orchestra. Especailly the beginning percussion. The piano takes away many emotions such as beauty, grace, and wonder that the orchestra enhances. Sure, some orchestral themes can even sound better on the piano, but this one is just not meant to be.

that's not point at all. My point is that this is certainly an incredible piece of music. But it was written only for an orchestra, as it was in the actual movie, not the piano. And even though some songs sound great transferred from the orchestra to the piano, this one doesn't.

Soundtracks are usually just a compilation of existing songs that were used in a movie, whereas a "score" for a movie is the music created solely for the movie. A "score" usually has no words, and is simply the music without the video.

Therefore, a piano score would be a track from a movie's "score" but played on the piano only =)
