  • just causually crying

  • New Zealand is awesome!!!!!!!

  • Whats the song called?

  • Earlier today my brother was just annoying the fuck outta me saying that if I didn't let him in he would break my door down. I stood up and was like "you shall not pass!!!" and I frigging round house kicked him in the face.

Bad thing to do I know but I don't give a fuck. It was epic.

  • Three people SHALL NOT PASS!

  • Look at Aragorn dodging arrows like a fucking badass haha

  • It's good that Gandalf is such an amazingly cool character, because otherwise I would have been really pissed for the death of an equally amazing, but nighmarish creature, the Balrog.

    1:22 for supreme awesomeness!

  • dislikers if i was you i would check the closet for the balrog ;) ;) he is after you

  • 3 dislikes...3 FUCKING DISLIKES!?!?! i don't want to live on this planet anymore

  • its like The Elder Scrolls!

  • @PS3gamerFaction No, the Elder Scrolls is like this. LOTR came first.

  • @Ellsior Well that's kinda what I was meant to say actually, but yeah there somewhat alike when you put some thought into it.

  • Woah....my blood pressure goes up when I see this scene it's so intense

  • What does Gandalf say @ 2:10? run or fly?

  • @tottrupen He says fly!

  • Comment removed

  • This scene is the only time I cried during a film, ever.

  • These films are the fuckin' bomb.

  • 0210 ..... the only scene that leech got right ....

  • @fingolfinx el hobbit aun esta en obra negra? para cuando salga al cine la saga entera de star wars estara en 3D :S

  • why does Star Wars get rereleased in 3D while the Lord of the Rings doesn't?

Oh right, because WE'RE GETTING THE HOBBIT!

  • @mortman200 fuck yeah

  • @mortman200 and because Star Wars it's just a franchise trying to absorb everyone's money.

  • I love it. So much. The scene were they first see each other, face to face. Goosebumps. They both know exactly who the other is. They're both Maiar and neither one is afraid of the other. They hate each other and they know exactly how this has to end. Such a great scene.

  • Fuck, they need to show these movies at the theater again.

  • this part was hillarious!!

  • why didn't anyone run on to the bridge and save him?

  • @redsox1006 orcs were watching with bow and arrows

  • @redsox1006 I'm guessing it was gonna collapse if anymore weight was on it or maybe cause the orcs were there and would of shot at them

  • Directors should use this soundtrack more

  • epic scene is epic

  • I cry - every time

  • That music + Frodos heart-rending scream = EPIC!! One of the greatest scenes in movie history!

  • this song plays when i run out of toilet paper

  • Except Gandalf doesn't die =D

  • i don't know why but i have all three movies and im watching them on youtube

  • The music wouldve sounded better higher pitched

  • @JammingDrummer

It's perfect the way it is.

  • Oh my God. I searched so long to find this song. Thanks alot :

  • I just love how Tolkien made Gandalf like a messiah. He fights the darkness of the world and the devils, which in Middle Earth is the Balrog of Morgoth and the Dark Lord Sauron. Gnadalf the grey falls, but rises again as Mithirandir, The White Rider.

    The best Wizard.

  • what does he say " dark fire will not avail you"?

in other words dark fire will not be of use to you

  • @xValanirX

    Yeah

  • Aragorn's stare at 2:20= Best part of the scene

  • I know it's sad when gandalf dies but frodo's high voice is funny to me! Don't get me wrong I don't want gandalf to die and I love him! I don't know why he risked his life fighting.

  • I'm not crying I just have something in my eye... both of them.

  • it's a shame when you come back to see this part of the movie because you know that Gandalf survives, it makes you sad but feelings are not the same...the first time I saw it...damn I cried

  • the battle between gandalf and the balrog is to simply put it...EPIC :D....gandalf fighting his twisted brother that turned to the dark side, yes balrogs for those who don't know are corrupted maiar, gandalf is a maiar and sauron is also a maiar thats why the balrog didn't answered to sauron because sauron was like a brother, would you listen to your brother if yer father wasn't home? :))

  • Hardest I cried at a movie when i was a kid.

  • Best movie scene ever because it has good sad music and something sad did happen

  • Gandalf's last words in the fellowship: " Fly You Fools " :(

  • *insert context here*

  • On of th greatest movie scenes ever

  • 2:20 The look on Aragorn's face just gets me every time.

  • ok my friends don't believe me when I say gandolf said "fly, you fools!" so yeah I need some proof, even in this clip you can't really tell for sure.

  • @0:18 he shat himself

  • Ian McKellan is so fierce.

  • I love the reaction frodo gives. his eyes say it all

"What the hell do you want from me.

  • @Drizzt1545 I remember hearing in the director's commentary that for this scene, they had told elijah wood that the audience should see so much grief in his face that it would scare them. He pulled it off!

  • LOTR is my life. Happy 10th Anniversary FOTR!

  • seriously this music affects my soul

  • mine 2!!! such a sentimental song!

  • whats the name of the song playing @ the end ?

  • Tears man... tears..

  • one of the most moving scenes of all time.

  • I think Frodo makes me feel the saddest....:,( after all they had done together. Sam comes pretty close after, though. :"(

  • the best trilogy madein my generation and generations past

  • 3:51 :'(

  • I'll go ask Kaname Madoka to give poor Frodo some comfort. /人◕‿‿◕人\

  • i imagined this when i was reading the book, so sad...

  • Made me cry.

  • :( i imagined im gandalf ,fighting balrog !

i do to the dogs that go in our front yard

i hit them with a staff.

  • I KNOW in the book it's "fly you fools" but no matter how hard i listen for "fly" i hear him say "flutter you fools", cuz last time I checked the word "fly" doesn't have two syllables and doesn't have a "ta" accent in the middle of it...greg

  • 2:21 - Listen to Boromirs voice, it's perfect with the song! Everytime I listen to the soundtrack I am dissapointed that Boromir's voice isn't there to shout "ARAGORN!". Also the absence of the arrows hitting against stone leaves a gap in the song on its own.

  • One of my favourite scenes from the LOTR trilogy. I remember watchin' this back in 2001 with a packed out audience. When this happened everyone went soooooooo quiet. Brilliant.

  • Tell me where is Gandalf for I much desire to speak with him

  • They looked back. Dark yawned the archway of the Gates under the mountain-shadow. Faint and far beneath the earth rolled the slow drum-beats: doom. A thin black smoke trailed out. Nothing else was to be seen; the dale all around was empty. Doom. Grief at last wholly overcame them, and they wept long: some standing and silent, some cast upon the ground. doom, doom. The drum-beats faded. (Tolkien, pg. 336)

  • Shelby, you talk too much. please just show the video

  • Shelby, we know what gandolf looks like...

  • who ever disliked should die

  • :'(

  • the look on Aragorns face -> Like what now?? Awesome acting! Beautiful music!

  • I cryd at the mOment the song started and I saw gimli would to go back and sam merin and pipin crying and I was crying

  • the song is called " The Bridge of Khazad-Dûm", the last part of this soundtrack is the very sad moment after the fall of Gandalf. Thumb this up if this part mean something for you.

  • ...How come it sounds like he said "Run, you fools!" and not "Fly, you fools!"?

  • When they got so many Oscars,my faith on the academy awards was restored...and then I lost it again because of some shitty movies getting oscars too. This was a true masterpiece end of story

  • I cried.

  • Somebody knows the name of the song?

    thx!

  • These truly are the greatest films ever to be made.

  • definitely fly you fools

  • ITS OK GUYS!! HE'LL BE BACK...

  • Stands and saves his friends at the cost of his own life. That is heroism. He probably knew his chances were next to nil of making it out with them and none at all for everyone if he didnt do something, and still did it anyways. In the next film you can see even when falling to his death he STILL fights every inch of the way down with the beast. If only we all had that kind of courage.

  • @shkotay Dude relax, it's just a movie. Balrogs aren't real.

  • @s4msam Oh gee, really? I never knew they weren't real, by god (another fake being). Its called "suspension of belief" and this is a moving scene. There is a reason why it moves ppl with imagination, you know. Should try developing some of that sometime. Makes life and such things as film and poetry far more enjoyable.

  • i first saw this scene in a video game called Daxter. . . i didnt know what it was referencing until i saw the movie and i was completely amazed at how spectacular this one scene is! i wasnt on the edge of my seat, i was on the floor hoping gandalf wouldnt die. . .then i cried. . . . . . . . . .until i read the book and watched the rest of the movies! :D HE LIVES!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • <3 Gimli for wanting to go back by himself and and kill thousands of goblins......

  • is the movie or book better?

  • @lilchels94 Definitely the book! :)

  • @lilchels94 id say there both as good as each over the book just has allot more detail

  • this is what ps4 graphics r gonna to look like

  • this is what ps4 graphics r going to like like

  • Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Sir Ian, WIZARD: YOU SHALL NOT PASS, Sir Ian Sir Ian Sir Ian.

  • This scene is almost too much for me. It's one of, if not THE, most powerful scenes in cinema history.

The music, the drama... and Ian. It's just perfect.

  • Why didn't they let him save Gandalf? They had plenty of time.

  • @DaveDinnerDude Gandalf does not need to be saved, read the book, i think the place was collapsing and and they were being chased by orcs, and a lot of other reasons

    read the books

  • @groovespermm It's been a while since I read the book, it was in highschool. But did the fellowship know he doesn't need saving and that he'd become Gandalf The White? I don't think so. A normal person would just have dashed towards the cliff and grabbed his arm. Unless they are under the impression the bridge could not hold them. Or the Balrog was still a danger.

  • @DaveDinnerDude Yeah they know he's on of the boss wizards in the realm.

  • @DaveDinnerDude In the book the whole bridge was collapsing, not just the half the balrog was standing on, so they couldn´t save him.

  • @XEgalmothOfGondolinX Oh, budget cuts... LOL

  • @DaveDinnerDude oh, and in the book Gandalf was drawn down by the balrog's whip at once, so he wasn´t even hanging on the edge before the bridge collapsed.

  • @XEgalmothOfGondolinX Also then he wouldn't have been able to defeat it once and for all.

  • @DaveDinnerDude Plenty of time? Did you not see the arrows coming from everywhere seconds after Gandalf fell? As others said, it's different in the book, but in the movie the main reason Gandalf let go was because he didn't want them to risk their lives trying to save him.

  • @mattjames2111 Well, the slowmo sure gives the impression they could have had a picnic and then go back for him. Besides, why does Boromir use his big shield to cover? Still a great movie though.

  • @DaveDinnerDude Why didn't they let him save Gandalf? They had plenty of time.

Because they realize that gandalf is too low level, and he needs to reach next level.

  • @87mithrandir FUS RO DAH!

  • LOL MY DAD THINKS HE SAID RUN YOU FOOLS

  • whats the name of the song, when everyone comes running out and crying 3:09

  • God the acting is incredible. When Gandalf falls, Aragorn staring in disbelief. Again, when they're out of the mine, and the hobbits are mourning gandalf, so powerful.

    Love it.

  • Fucking sexy in 1080p

  • I think he said *fuck you fools*

  • 2:00 GAANDALLFFFF!

  • Press 5 for epic "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

  • whats the song name???

  • gandalf: your not on the list guy : just let me in the party *tries to enter*

    gandalf: YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!!!!!!!!

  • What is the song at 2:19 ?

  • @BlaringSnake40 I believe its "The Bridge of Khazad-dûm" track 13 on the FoTR soundtrack.

  • @EmbraceMe102 thank you so much !!!!

  • @BlaringSnake40 You're very welcome:)

  • Gandalf say "fly you fools" right before he falls. Im pre sure he says it in the book 2.

  • 2.16 THEEE most epic 'NOOOOO!' ever uttered in cinema

  • Honestly? Hahah. Aragorn is incredibly lucky all of those arrows missed..

  • Comment removed

  • frodo could have helped him up. the bridge wasn't falling...

  • @Respectthewilderness frodo is like 3 ft 4.... he couldn't have pulled him up, never mind the balrog having wings? most would have thought the balrog could have flew back up.

  • when i was younger , me and a frend always fantasized if we were in the film and at the moment aragorn said by nightfall it will swarms of orcs , we would wait for them and slay every last of them :p

btw : sorry for the bad englisch

  • If i ever was a door man at some club and some idiot tried his luck to get in I'll say.... YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Im sure he says run you fools

  • Legolas has the most heartbreaking expression at 3:13

  • "Give them a donut for pity's sake!"

  • Truly the first time Aragorn experiences the loss of a comrade, his expression when Gandalf falls is moving.

  • I forgot about this movie. But I remembered seeing Gandalf in The Two Towers and The Return of The King.So did he die or not?

  • @Aydee2020 he died but he was ressurected as what saurman should have been if sauron has not corrupted him

  • @Aydee2020 He did die, but got ressurected by the Valar, because his purpose wasn't complete

  • "well gandalf perhaps if you called in your eagle friends we could"

  • lol i love how Aragorn just dodges that arrow going for his forehead at 2:39 like it's just a piece of hay coming at him XD

  • BEST ACTING EVER!

  • This movie is so freaking good, it's just not normal, best movies ever!!!!!! i can't explain how amazingly good these movies are, IN-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E!!!

  • STUNNIG SCENE. JUST PERFECTION

  • Gandalf: "Fly, you fools!"

Aragorn: "Oh, great, Gandalf. I don't have wings. Now what?"

  • This is probably one of the most epic scenes in film history

  • 2:46 have u ever noticed, that this scene is animated.

the movements of them look so lame^^

    anyways this movie is awsome!!!

  • Just so everyone knows fly is an old english term for "run like hell". So he said run like hell you fools!

  • This scene is the only scene in any of the movies where Aragorn loses his composure. Look at his face after gandalf falls, you never see that look again, no matter how dire things get.

  • @crazycrackahmeloku I couldn't agree with you more!

  • @crazycrackahmeloku You are so right =)

  • @crazycrackahmeloku Still, you have to admire his stoicism when everyone is mourning outside. That is what a true leader does, conceal personal emotions to save the lives of his fellow men.

  • @crazycrackahmeloku Well he cries when Boromir dies.

  • @crazycrackahmeloku yeah Aragorn is like GG.

  • @crazycrackahmeloku, You actually incorrect, as he also loses his composure when Sauron shows him Arwen dying, and when Mount Doom erupts with Frodo inside, and they believe him dead.

  • @crazycrackahmeloku What about in RotK, after they escape the Paths of the Dead? When they see the Corsair ships and the burning towns?

Or in TT, when he thinks Merry and Pippin are dead?

  • wat does he say right wen he falls?

  • @all360suck "Fly, you fools!"

  • @XEgalmothOfGondolinX That's an unrealistic request, they don't have the technology or the means.

  • @XEgalmothOfGondolinX thts wht i thought he said :D

  • @XEgalmothOfGondolinX man u hit the nail on the head about this music and its sadness and you uploadedthevideo
