Honestly I had no idea, Freddy had passed on! such a waste. I had the oppotunity to meet Freddy when he visited Australia, he really wowed them down under. He is one of my favorites, along with Elvis, and Marty Robbins. Three great stars in heaven, RIP Freddy...
remember that beautiful album he made with wasted days and wasted nights on it and the tribute to hank plus the hit before the next teardrop falls - vaya con dios , freddy
I recently watched a 1979 episode of the Dukes Of Hazzard and it was awesome to see Freddy Fender on there, you know how they end the episodes with a special guest. I always wanted to meet him. One day I will go see his resting place. "Thank You for posting this". I am a true blue Freddy Fender Fan. I have been since I was 13 years old. I always thought he was very sexy!! He went out with a great number, (69). You will truly be missed Freddy! VAYA CON DIOS.

Red Sails in the Sunset. The Platters had a great version of it in the 50s.
