  • can it run crysis?

  • Wow! I better run out and buy one now!

  • "Imagine video like you see in the movies". Yeah right lol.

  • If my computer had sparks flying inside the floppy drive, I'd say it's a piece of shit.

  • that is one thick PC...

  • can it run crysis?

  • "and games are far more realistic",but ,can you run crysis ?

  • @plzdonhack No, it can' t,but Quake 1 is far more realistic than pac-man and tetris together

  • @lenin25051986 sorry but it cannot run quake one lol

  • @xSpArTiChRiSx mh... i won't bet on that, i alredy played Quake on a Pentium MMX, 166 mhz and 64 mb ram... and it ran fluently at "medium" resolution (800x600), with a software renderer, so that means you can use a worse machine for running it at low resolution and detail with low fps

  • @lenin25051986 well theres your problem you have a SHIT TON of ram compared to my 1995 acer aspire 2000 series 5100lb model i can run doom and decent as well as others but for some reason the texturing system in quake takes a toll on somthing in my pile of junk and i just realized we are talking about quake 1 not quake 2 so ya i could probebly run it

  • @xSpArTiChRiSx Yes, i have a magazine anoncing Quake 2 and tells you need a hell of a machine: at least PII. Try now with my old laptop (PI, 16mb RAM) Duke3d. Really jumpy, only suitable for Sim City2000 and Doom. Anyway; Doom is more "real" than pacaman :P

  • My first computer was an intel pentium ii processor with 128 mb ram, some graphics card tat i forgot about, and a 50 GB HDD. It still runs today after more than 10 years of constant use. Best computer I have ever owned. I mean what computer today plays minesweeper?

  • My first PC:

Intel Pentium I (166MHz with MMX technology)

    32MB RAM

    2MB VGA

    2GB HDD

  • @imre1205 And it still works :D

  • @0:15 "And numbers that fall into place..." hehe, they had a floating point error that required a replacement. I bought a Pentium 90 from Dell, and after a couple months, they replaced my Pentium chip. Had a helluva time removing this latch on top of the chip, but I did it!

  • I still have a computer just like that one. - _ -

  • My first pc in 1997.

  • All that and the guy's display is probably about the resolution of this video.

    :P

  • Today my nephew almost threw away Pentium i200 cpu. I barely managed to take that away as precious 1000 year old golden coin.

  • it's not to bad it will run xp ok

  • i got a pentium 200mhz 64mb ram, windows 98.2 still working ;-)

  • The Speed was a revolution at this thime.

  • Look at 0:19. It appears the 3.5 floppy drive is right side up on that PC. It does not appear so well, but I can see it.

  • yea lets play a beta of pong!

  • Make half life 2 far more longer to load lol!

  • .....and 16 years later here i am watching this on a Pentium D rig

  • The finger is quite long

  • Remember? That one was the one with the floating point bug.

  • @Arminixnix im 100.334% certain you are mistaken.

  • lol "graphics you want to reach out and touch" when it said that i poked my monitor

  • even if you're not an intel fan, look how far we've come technologically. in just ten years, these companies have surpassed our expectations by light years. imagine what our world will be like in 25 years...

  • @packetcreeper this commercial was 15 years ago.....

  • @packetcreeper I'm taking my Pentium III that'd dual booted to run Windows 98 and 2000 and upgrade 98 to XP Media Center Edition 2005.

  • i can run 7 on a intel 1 and it takes *RREMBER 7 USUALY NEEDS P4 MINIMUM* it boots in 5mins 23secs but it did go on fire after that i seriouslly did that will teach me

  • @mujrfster1234 and also intel are dear as shit but there the best AS I FIND U MIGHT B DIFFERENT so its hart to chose

  • oh shit i have to get me one of these. NOT. Intel is way to overpriced now a days..

  • Minesweeper and tetris! OH YEAH!

  • @Chrisrokk239 I don't think the P1 meets the minimum system requirements for those games. =/

  • dont forget, core i7 extreme is a gave of pentium1

  • Wow thats amasing Mr pentium :) Now divide 4195835 by 3145727 correctly ;)

  • It's amazing what u can do with a Core i7 Extreme today.

  • "It's amazing what you can do with an Intel Pentium Processor." I don't think booting Windows XP in 10 minutes is amazing.

  • he said that games are realistic on pentium 2

  • Does it play Tetris?

  • @TylerBlindGuardian Even better! -- Oregon Trail!

  • ive still got a working p1200 mhz

  • athlon xp was the best back then ^^

  • oops they forgot the heatsink

    'its gonna blow'

  • REALISTIC GAMES WOW

  • videos like you see in the movies? on a pentium?

    you must be trolling

  • Fucking Amazing

    When does this come out?

  • I had a Pentium pc running at a cool 75Mhz.

  • My first PC wasn't an Intel or even an AMD.. it was a Cyrix Proc at 180MHz!

  • @GlycerinZ Cyrix's were awesome for anything, but anything requiring floating-point operations. They couldn't come up with a new archtecture for one so they were using the same one they had for their earlier 386 processors!

  • that womans finger at the start looks to long

  • People Back Then :

    "OMFG! 8-BIT GRAPHICS."

  • @uri0316 People now,

    OMFG! HD-graphics

  • LOL XD

    ^_^

  • What do you suppose is up there on the display? I can't really tell...

  • AMD FTW!!!!

  • right thats why i bent all of the pins on the peace of CRAP!!!!! it was made to be destroyed!!!!! 500 mhz? that is lame. its just like an oversized calculator!

  • i can run GTA IV,dirt 2 or crysis on it? no?ok LOL

  • lol, i wonder what ghz that processor had

  • you mean MHz's :D

  • no not ghz its mhz. mine had 500 mhz ti was fast with windows 98! :P

  • at least Athlons made a small fireworks display when you removed the heatsink ; )

  • Not all athlos, thank god

  • What's the benchmark for this processor on Crysis? lollage

  • Funny how the processor being advertised as high end is LAUGHABLE now lool

  • pro-sessah

  • So I love u! ;)

But I have Celeron 300MHz, Celeron 366MHz, Celeron 466MHz, Pentium MMX 166MHz and Celeron 1.2GHz xD

  • lol i have intel celeron 1ghz, it sucks and laggs on online games lol

  • Oh yes!

    I love too!

I love these old videos :D

ATI, Intel... My childhood memory xD

  • It looks like the processor turns into a black hole when u take the heatsink off.

  • I've got loads of these processors in storage ranging from 75 MHz to about 200 MHz. Also have a 90 MHz one with the infamous FDIV bug.

  • I just fround a working Intel Pentium today! Runs at 150MHz inside an unwanted PC in the dump!

  • If ound one took it home, and it exploded for some reason :/

Its a shame seeing these things going to waste xD since some1 prolly spent like £2000 on it xD

  • Marketing lies!

  • What's really ironic I believe all the graphics animations in this commercial were done on an Amiga of all things which did not have Intel inside.

  • i have a pc with a pentium 1 cpu from 1990 with 75 mhz of processing power. But the bios died on it. Still have it though.

  • How did you have a PC with a Pentium processor in 1990 when the chip was first manufactured by intel in 1993?

  • Funny thing for Pentium I marketing from 1995:

"and games are far more realistic" xD

  • truee lol

  • @ComputerTutorialPro And the Pentium II come out that year

  • @ComputerTutorialPro really!! i want to play call of duty 4!

  • i loved the intel jingle since the time i first heard it ...

  • go nuts it only has 128 mb of ram and windows 98 and crap like that

  • I have an old Pentium-S/P54C 120mhz and it still works. but can I enjoy any movie like this ad says? nope, unless I upgrade that old S3 Trio64V+ 1mb video card to an NVIDIA Riva TNT2 32mb or something XD.

also, if your Pentium 1 doesn't work you should see if it can be repaired ;)

  • Memories.....my first PC was a P1, and it continued workin till last year! A total of 8 years!!!!

  • lol i have one if you want it

  • me too. on 56 k. wanting the file to download before my parents got home

  • pffft mine has ethernet lol(that sucks)

  • Actually, I have pentium 3 700 mhz and crysis took 3 and half a years to load the intro.

  • you waited?

  • it's overclocked?

  • @xxpoonednoobxx Crysis hasn't been out for that long. XD

  • @xxpoonednoobxx HAHAHA!! But that's impossible, considering Crysis was released in 2007 and you wrote this comment an year ago (2009). Somebody is a friend of Doc Brown!!

  • @xxpoonednoobxx thats hilarious! but hey it ran crysis!

  • @xxpoonednoobxx How is that possible when Crysis came out in 2007? XD

  • IMPOSSIBLE YOU LIAR

  • looool

  • It's ironic that the advert was probably composed and rendered on very early Unix/Irix graphics machines using Motorola PowerPC computers... :P

  • its funny, because today it seems so old and primitive to us. Our today world will also look strange to people in 20 years. (For them who didnt lived in this time)

  • What happened to the Pentium OverDrive?

  • I never even heard of the OverDrive 'til lile, 2 days ago. And I'm an Intel fanboy!

  • @retrooldschool: I'm an Intel fangirl, too ^^

  • Today's computers are as ugly as the old ones. You don't need to wait another 20 years. ;-) We need more colours, more imperfection, less borders, frames, etc. in my opinion. It's all sooo boring in technics design.

  • People asked for that with Vista.

You can just look at what kind of piece of shit that was.

  • MMX missing

  • on logo

  • what is mmx?

  • MMX was Intel's new instruction set added to the Pentium back in 1997.

  • which is now featuered in AMD processors

  • "Imagine video like you see in the movies"

yep you certainly did have to "imagine" it with a pentium 1 machine

  • LOL

  • hahaha :D LOL

  • XDDD

  • @ScratchGuy Damn right. xD

  • OH GOD NO NON ONONONONONONONONONNOOOOO

    (ding ding ding ding)

  • KG227: Obviously you have never watched a Blu-Ray with a intel C2Q 3.12ghz 8800Gt 52in 1080p plasma....if you have you would never have stuck you head in this video ^.^

  • Pentium I rules hehee... My 1st PC was based on P1 :)

  • It's base on P5

  • Yah.. keep on imagining.

  • piss on the technology industry, they been saying cinematic quality video for over 15 years. And we ain't even close!! stoopit assed advertising make U look like a fool!!

  • Lol at the ending. They still use that sound today! But its kinda modified!

  • Crysis on highest settings is way too easy for that beast!!

  • very good processor, the revolution was pentium.

  • Agreed the step up from the 486 was pretty immense.

  • no amd was

  • i love the pentium chime thing at the end it coming.

  • "Video like you see in the movies" LMAO! Well, video does look pretty horrible on a movie screen.

But seriously, all they have to do is cite a couple of films with video phones in them. After all, they didn't say movie-quality video.

Ironic side note: the early Pentium ads happened to be made on Mac hardware. (Remember that, at the time, PPCs were more than twice as fast at floating point math, as their Pentium counterparts.)

  • yeah games realistic to 1994 xD

  • Yeah...sure XD

  • realistic games? I dont think, it will run Crysis DX10 in very high on 100 fps

  • we dont have computers even now that can do that.

  • "realistic games u can touch" I dont imagine Crysis on that Pc.

  • GAMES? WTF!

  • lol "realistic games u can touch" i need 1 of those then

  • i was holding the old thiong here lol

  • 1995, hk had 100% of people employed,

stock in good prospect, rich people filled

with streets, but now...just like the computer field becomes worse and worse,

    let us down.

  • by that time, my first compaq computer pentium 75 together with a printer costed

    HK$23,000.00 something,oh! my god, i could

only make installment to buy it, what a bitter experience!! it is a worth.

  • yes,4 mb ram, then 8 mb ram for my computer

pentium 75(compaq which was then a no.1 computer manufacturer and dealer),do u all

know how much for a piece of 4 mb ram, it

costed almost HK$800.00 then, if now HK$800

can buy 4G ram, a very good ram.

  • yes, "realistic"

  • lol "games ALMOST realistic"

  • i remember at my first jobs after college i was given a 486 win 95, 3 months into the job it had a little accident and well leave it at that.

  • Ya right. I had a PC like that, it didn't even play a 320*240 vid clip for more than a few seconds without a buffer overrun.

  • I still have my Toshiba T1960CT laptop with a 486 processor and 8 MB of RAM and Windows 95. 327 MB of hard drive space!!

The Pentium 1 was the start of better things to come :)

  • ahhhh, reminds me of my old win 95 computer, i still have it in the attic but the time and date wont go to 2007 , so the BIOS gives me problems....

    Specs:

    Packard Bell 1166 (i think)

    Intel 486 DX

    Cirrus Logic Onboard Graphics

4 MB System RAM, i can see why win 95 was sooo slow for me!

    Windows 95

  • LOL. Great. I was running a 386 when Windows 95 came out. Later upgraded to a 486 Dx4-120 but even then stuck with Windows 3.11. Pentium was too expensive for me back then ;-)

  • I used to have a pentium 1 processor (150mhz)with 64mb ram pc running windows 98. Suprisingly it worked like a dream

  • CLASSIC!!!!

  • yeah it's amazing LOL thanks for the video ;-)
