In my years of pokemon since Red to Platinum, I have only encountered one shiny. It was a shiny Arbok in Pokemon Crystal. I was SO DAMN CLOSE to catching it, but on my second attack a critical hit and it killed it...

i got a shiny mew and a shiny roselia but i didn't really use them so i went after eevees and got to a chain of 50 and a shiny eevee broke my chain... my friend was going for shiny vulpix found one and ran away by mistake... my friend doens't have as many shinys has Z33 but she is really good at chaining in my opinion because she got me a shiny growlethe and manectric, but eventually i'm gonna chain after i beat platinum and go for a bagon or breed for a shiny dratini

how do you chain an eevee? it cant be caight in the wild in d/p/p. much less chained. and vulpix isnt obtainable either! it can only be transfered via gba or trade! you cant chain dratina because itys in the water!!! you are HORRIBLE at lying. really!

vulpix you need leaf green or fire red.

im too lazy to chain.i use my luck.i caught 8 shinys by walking through grasses.i caught 2 by purely accident.i wanted to go to the next area(u know battle area that place) and i went through the grass and i got a shiny fearow.the other one is a shiny wingull.

in Pokémon gold I found a shiny oddish and when I tried to get out of the cave in Pokémon Ruby, I encountered a shiny Torkoal! .. unfortunately those are my only non-hacked shiny's :P

In Leaf Green I found a shiny caterpie before I even knew about them and got kinda confused and didnt even catch it, the only other shiny i've encountered was a loudred I caught in emerald, but I forgot that game on holiday at a relative of a relatives... I doubt ill ever go back there and if I do itll be gone or overwritten =(

Lmfao the funniest thing happened to my brother today! He was wandering through the snow to Snowpoint City (after he had national dex) and found a wild shiny Swinub! But a grasshopper landed on the "Run" button on his touch screen and made him run from it!

That's great, he was able to let the tragedy go and didn't dwell on it. If that happened to me, I think it would have taken a couple of days for me to get over loosing a shiny swinub. Tell him that when pokemon platinum comes out he'll be able to chain for swinub because it's not a swarm pokemon anymore.

Onyx and Gible do not live in grass, they live in caves.

So you can't chain them. :\

yessss thanks to your guide I have just caught my first shiny geodude!! =] at chain 40 but then it broke at 43 and I didn't catch anymore shinies, for some reason the chain broke when I was resetting my radar =[ oh well. Now I can chain to higher numbers 1st:43 2nd:38 3rd:34

Resetting means: activating the radar without picking a patch. You would do this when you are looking for the shiny patch between chain 30-40 or when you are looking for a good patch to build your current chain to the next chain.

I was chaining Shinx last night in hopes of getting a shiny and I had tried all day to even get my chain up to 40 and when I did my Repel ran out and I accidentally hit up again and got and ran into a random encounter.I was crushed and pissed.

nice job on the 6 shiny geodude. i got lucky and got 11 in one chain, and got the chain to 148, my highest record. but i'm having trouble chaining nincada for some odd reason. i'll have to just keep trying it.
