Magarboi....Yes there is WAY better ways to do that such as shoot at it or make a water bomb and blow it up or CALL EOD. But sometimes you are in a hurry. And need your convoy or patrol to pass through you need to clear the path. Yes you can go around but then you are leaving it there for another unit to get hit. (you find it you deal with it)

If there was an IED, that means there are insurgents near by. Insurgents stop convoys then attack them. Insurgents get word that a Humvee broke down they swarm like locusts. The IED disabled the Humvee, the cannot wait around to tow it or fix it. As they spoke insurgents were swarming. They are very lucky the got out in time. They would of had a big fire fight if not.
